My spouse's oath was supposed to be today (24th April) but got a cancellation email Friday (21st). Email says it will be rescheduled but I guess we gotta wait for strike to end.

I was supposed to have my oath today but I got a cancellation email at 3 pm yesterday. Really sad guys - I know there are thousands going through this cancellation but can't believe I was so close but yet so far..
that is totally ridiculous!! sorry to hear that!! and they are still getting paid even if they are on strike!!!! they might find a solution in couple of weeks but believe me they will delay things for months and months for no reason, same as their Covid excuse !!!

Oath scheduled April 27 and got an email an hour ago said that it is now cancelled, rescheduling will be after the labor disruption end. I'm extra worried about the backlog of the ceremonies, certificate issuance and passport application after this. I have a trip of a lifetime for July and I'm worried that I cannot get my passport in time for it. :(

Those 4 are most crucial as per union - wage increases, seniority over merit in case of job cuts, work from home and no outsourcing! Hope they reach a resolution soon and it’s a win win for all parties involved.

Hey, yes this is very draining and uncertain. But hopefully the strike will finish soon and they’ll work on our files. At least as PR (for now ;) ) our situation is stable and we don’t depend on approval to keep our jobs, or to avoid deportation or to travel abroad.
hang tight my friend we’re almost there
