I'm sponsor living abroad, applied PR for my partner under common law partnership.

My partner's application just started last week (HKVO, processing time is about 11 months). We would like to get married and planning for this October. Is it bad timing? Will it be favorable/unfavorable to our application?

Nope, it isn't bad timing. If anything, it could end up making your application go slightly easier (only since you wouldn't need to have the 1-year cohabitation proof). That being said, if they actually are already processing your application there's a chance it could be approved before October.

Sorry, a bit paranoid here. What if they are not happy with my original application's cohabitation proof and during that same timing requesting me for additional documents and I tell them we will marry or had married... will it raise a red flag for them to think we get married just because of the inadequate cohabitation proof?

Hah, it's alright. I'm sure we all get a bit paranoid sometimes with our applications.

I honestly doubt it. I've seen many people get married in the middle of the application process with no issues. There are many legitimate reasons why a couple would decide to get married at any time.

We received X application for permanent residence on April 6, 2016.
We started processing X application on May 31, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

my permanent residence side shows in process and this now.. does that mean the VO now has the application? i dont know how to update the spreadsheet with this information..

edit: i still dont know when i got SA the lady last friday just told me recently and everything will be on the letter/email even which visa office it was sent to.. if anyone wants to fill in my information on the spreadsheet go ahead because im very confused

What does it mean?

just called cic
the call centre agent as always so nice to me
took all the details and told me that i have been approved as a sponsor ;D
they sent me the correspondence via snail mail
i told her that i am unable to access ecas :-[
she said she would try to see if she could access
said she cant just like myself 8)
she sent me an email how to contact the technical team :-*
i have already sent a cse two days ago regarding the issue :-* :-* :-*
so now the waiting game bigins and i will update the spread sheet soon when i get more information.

I just checked my mail box and I got a letter from CIC in Ottawa (Application Common Law Sponsorship).

I can not really believe it says : We have approved your application for permanent residence in Canada. We have issued a Confirmation od Permanent Residence (CoPR) document for you and any family member accompanying you to Canada.

SO THAT MEANS I GOT THE PR RIGHT? I just want to make sure Smiley I just send the application in the 4th of march to Mississauga and they send it to Ottawa (not I thought to Vienna because I am from Germany) .... so all just took 2 month ...wow I was so worried it would take over a year!

I am in Canada:
The letter says I have to go to a CIC office or to a Canadian border to do Port of Entry!

Can somebody tell me where I can find those offices or is it easier to go to the border?
What did you do?

That's it or do I have to do something else?
They did not ask for the passport? so everything will be done at the office or the border?

Yes, Vienna got it and started processing it.
I got SA confirmation from CIC call center and a month and a half later I received email with the actual approval. :-X ;D

yes you have been granted a pr (copr) and you can get an appointment at any canadian visa office or go do a flagpolling to become pr
