Hello,

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place... I am applying for spousal sponsorship for my partner, we live in New Zealand, my partner is a NZ citizen. We sent our application to the Mississauga office about 30 days ago and haven't heard anything if it has been received, etc. yet. Is this normal? Is there a phone number we can call? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced such a long wait time?

Thanks
Welcome. How did you send it. If you look on this thread you will find a link to a april spreadsheet. Depending on how you sent it you will see if you are late.

Well I guess AOR should be sent to the sponsor's email...so far my husband didn't receive anything yet. I also keep checking my email (including spam folder)....just in case :) I know it's too early to start worrying...but I want to be sure that they won't send it back. Heh.

it will definitely come on sponsor's address so maybe get your husband to check email and spam ;D

Thank you for your response. My partner sent it using New Zealand post and did not put tracking on the package (very very foolishly I think). The estimated delivery time was 10 business days so it should have been there by roughly April 29/30 (Was sent April 12).

I've taken a look at the spreadsheet and it looks like most people receive their AoR quite quickly. Is there a way of following up by phone from overseas?

I just received an email from CPC giving me an application number and acknowledging they got my application. Is that what you guys refer to as AOR email?!

Hey Behrooz. Congrats! Can you update your details on the spreadsheet so we can all see your timeline? your name is at the bottom :)

there is but i don't know the number. Is anyone able to post it? For CIC-M?

Give them a call and see if you get a nice agent who will look it up. Most wont however as it hasnt been over 41 days, but say youre just enquiring about it being received.

Thank you! I will give this a go but as I'm calling from New Zealand I'm not sure if the toll free #s work... I'll try and keep looking for the local number (Maybe one with a 613 area code). If anyone knows it on here let me know :)

Very helpful forum - I can't believe how helpful it is to have the spreadsheets - are they updated regularly?

I hope it is only ten days. Even if it was you will still be well within the timelines you will see on the spreadsheet. Count at least 18 days after the 29th.

if you want to put your info on it, put your name and details at the bottom and ill edit you in. Then you can update your dates as they come in yourself :)

good luck with the phone call.

They may be able to figure out if they have a file number though or a uci if the officer decided to look.

Theyre only interested in if theyve recwived it so could be worth trying.

Could anyone please tell me of an application can be returned to you after getting AOR?

I received AOR1!!!

So happy today...now the actual wait begins lol..
