Waailikum Salam,

No news on my end bro :(

3rd GCMS came on June 30, everything not started. Ordered new ones same day LOL.

Planning my next trip across the globe lol.

Makes sense now why you were delayed. But everything's good so that's what counts!

sounds good freeze!! I thought you were being processed in Ottawa though (according to the spreadsheet and not Vienna).

I was processed in Ottawa. I have no idea why they told me to send additional pictures to Vienna. I think they just wanted to send the copr via regular mail.
But whatever I don't care why they did it... point is to get my copr soon

When Ottawa does send PPRs, they ask that the passport/additional pictures be sent to a local office if the PA is not inside of Canada.

Once PPR is requested, does it not mean the application is approved? Why would they want additional pictures sent?

That makes sense now.
We both love outside of Canada.

If the pictures ended up not meeting their standards or if the picture requirements change (they did a couple/few months ago), they'll ask for new PR card photos, but yes, PPR means that the application has been approved. These photos are not the same as ones provided for proof of relationship.

That's what I thought too.

And I got the COPR today Grin Cool

Congrats ;D

They always ask for 2 photos with PPR even before the update to the photo requirement.

I always thought this was so the pic on the PR card was as recent as possible.

Updates - My wife got AOR2 from Warsaw. There is a fourth line that shows up in her status - We sent you an acknowledgement by email on xx.

My online status now also shows up. However, my status appeared this weekend and is showing In process

We received your application to sponsor yyy on xx
We started processing your application on xx

I got sponsorship approval on June 7 so am wondering why that doesn't show up.

because ecas isn't reliable. perhaps the officer forgot to update it. you may find it stays that way the entire time, even after the pr has landed. ecas isn't really the best way to know what's happening with your application. communication directly from cic is.

Congrats to Freeze :D :) :D

It has been awfully quiet for me every since I submitted the additional information request from HKVO on June 16th. Thought maybe it is a good time to order GCMS notes for my wife?

behrooz66, how did you manage to get visitor visa while PR visa is in progress? i heard it has higher rejection rate.

I heard that too. But honestly my experience with various visa request (different family members at times) has shown that CIC actually behaves based on a very good common sense. My wife and I, both included letters in the visa application explaining that as a newly wed couple it is not easy to live separated. Plus, I have a permanent job and used up my vacation days for wedding, which means it is not possible for me to go and live back home until the PR app is done. I included papers showing that I have a mortgage, and thus getting unpaid leave is also off the table.

We ensured them that we are law abiding people and the last we would do is leaving bad impression for CIC. :)
The visa was granted in two weeks!
