sorry i was typing from my mobile, do u have a my cic login? u can find a option for 'apply for work permit' and I was trying to say that if you search in this forum you will find many topics which will guide you step by step

I have applied for first GCMS on March 25th and have'nt received any reply yet..
Usually how long does it take to get response for GCMS.

Is there any update on ur application recently ?

GCMS notes usually come on the 29th or 30th day from applying.

I have the same situation. Only two lines in ECAS 1. App Received on ..... 2 Medical Results......
I don't know why they are taking so long for the pretty straight forward application. When I called CIC, Cust Rep. said we are running background check on this and also said He is not sure if this will finish withing 12 months period.

The whole CIC system is making no sense. The one thing I noticed is even if your case is pretty clear and everything is there. every document is there, still you have to suffer the pain for waiting and tension because CIC dont care about us.

Even in my case same, Since last couple of weeks I tried customer care multiple times and they always mentioned back ground check still in progress and rest all are straight forward without having any complications. My ECAS status still Application received with two lines inside.
I wish CIC understand our pain and send PPR email in next couple of days.

1.we received yours application on 7 april
2.medical have been received
3------------------------(nothing-)

i did medical on 6 of nov 2014 requested by cic
today 20 april , got 2nd GCMS note nothing is change- review required by officer
due date on application 02 may 2015

what is due date about?? will they open my file on due date ??
