:P FINALLY THE PPR ARRIVED TODAY !!!!! :P :P :P :P

As I was sitting on the comp dealing with my emails, the CIC message popped up so innocently that I could not register what I'm seeing for a second... but then it hit me and I screamed so suddenly my dog freaked out and ran out of the room whimping... lol, poor beast :P

They asked for a scan of the US passport and the Certificat de Selection de Quebec. I attached and emailed them back so fast that the agent replied (also immediately) saying "That is all we need for now, thank you. And impressive response time by the way." ROFL ...... They have made overachievers out of us 8) Should I expect an employment offer from them soon? hahahaha

But it was so cool though, emailing back and forth directly with the man behind the curtain (This is the guy who is deciding my fate. I know his agent number from my previously requested report). It almost felt like we're buddies and everything is good with the world.

Now for another few weeks of waiting.... I'm actually going to start job hunting to get ahead of the game. I still can't believe it...

BTW, does anyone know if there is an office in the city of Montreal that serves as a "point of entry" or do I absolutely have to go out of Canada and re-enter again (once I get the COPR)?

It feels more personal when there is an actual response and not all automatic and cold - good news about your PPR !
ABout landing - no, it can not be done at the airport. The option you have is to try and land at one of the CIC offices, you can give them a call and book an appointment, but depending on where you are, you might have to wait a month. or drive to the nearest border and get it done in a day!
You can only land at the airport if you are arriving from an international flight, as you can not access the "landing area" from inside Canada.
Good luck for the end of the process!

Hummmmm.....any advice? Or do i just need to chillll....

PPR jan 9 and scanned the next day. Checked ecas last week and it changed to decision made (not exactly sure when it did change though) Does anyone know how long it takes to actually get something in the mail?

give it a week more, it usually takes between 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive, so it should be there soon!

Ok, thanks for the info. I will check with the CIC office and if not go to the border.

I actually got my request for my CSQ in early October and then my PPR in early November. So I did send them an email with a scan of my passport. The only other thing I had going on was in August I applied for a tempory resident visa (visitors record) and actually received it in early December when I was expecting my COPR. I've emailed them twice now with no reply. I think my next move is to get my notes. Do you know how to go about that? I hear it only costs $5 as well?

Here is the form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp

I emailed it and it took a month to get the email report back, but it was very useful. That is how we found out that my hubs PM card delays were holding my process back, and that they have a "further information and investigation required" notes on the relationship status. I was so pissed b/c had they asked us for more info, we would have sent it itimmediately, but there was no communication from them at all. I had to order my report to learn that they want more info from me. grrrrrrrrrr

Yeah, that's incredible. They just leave the application in limbo and you have no idea they require more from you. Well hopefully this will give me some answers. Merci beaucoup!

Curious what info I should be requesting? Electronic files or physical files? Immigration file: permanent residence or Sponsorship file? Sorry just want to make sure I don't have to do this again!

It's a standard response. Most likely, they have started background checks ( or started them just before the interview) and they are waiting for the results.
Good news is: if the interview didn't go well, you probably would have had a letter of refusal quickly enough (1 or 2 weeks). So if you haven't received anything, it might be because they are finalising your file, maybe extending your medicals if needed etc.
Good luck!

I requested the electronic version of the sponsorship file. What you get is basically a print out of their custom CRM (customer relationship management software). It's not a narative and you have to "read" over it a few times to get a picture of what is actually hapenning with your file :)

Hmmm, the form doesn't show the option for sponsorship file under electronic version, just under physical files. I think I will order electronic files - immigration: permanent residence. I guess either way these will be the only files I have. Thanks ivelinan for your help and hope you get that COPR soon!
