Dear All,

Please advice I have to send my full docs to New Delhi VO, as per the instructions in the:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37029.pdf

Payment Instructions
Consult the Fees section of our Web site or the Guide for Skilled Worker Applicants to calculate your fees. You must include a bank draft payable to the Canadian High Commission for the Right of permanent residence fee for yourself and all accompanying family members. Note that the processing fees are not refundable at this stage. Fees are payable in Canadian dollars or Indian rupees at the exchange rate currently in use at the Canadian High Commission. Do not enclose cash.

NOW I want to know as per the same do we need to add the RPRF along with the docs or the same can be sent later.

Please advice.

Regards,

Sunnysport
Hi Sunny,

Congratulations for gathering all the docs so soon. Haral is correct to advise that you will be requested for RPRP fees along with your Medicals.

But if you can include the RPRF fees now, then you save some time on processing of your application. Also bear in mind that the processing times are not quite synchronised to what the CIC website indicates, so you might have to resend the Fees ,if you sending a bank draft (with a validity of 6 m); and therefore, the initial plan on saving time might not be valid then. This of course will not be the case if you pay by Credit card, and in case you do, then, do not forget to add the Security number ( which is at the back of the card) on the fees form even though there is no extra space for writing the number.

Many applications have been refused in the past for the lack of it (though not the fault of the applicant).

It is a gamble...you can try your luck.

New tougher Canada laws to curb illegal immigration
Canada, 25th October: The Canadian government has unveiled new tougher laws to control illegal immigration in the nation.

This will be done by introducing stiff penalties for those involved in human smuggling. Moreover, the federal government has also stated of detaining asylum seekers in Canada.

The main aim will be to crack down on those involved in human smuggling in Canada leading to their prosecution.

Some of the new measures include compulsory detention of human smugglers extending up to 10 years, prison sentences, a waiting period of five years for illegal immigrants wanting to make application for permanent residency in Canada, terminated refugee applications for those returning to their native nation for holidays and holding ship operators and ship owners to make them accountable for using ships in illegal Canada immigration.

The announcement about the new Canada immigration laws for punishing the guilty of illegal immigration in Canada was made by Vic Toews, Canada’s Public Safety Minister and Canadian immigration minister Jason Kenney in Vancouver on Thursday.

The new law states that anyone found to be involved in smuggling of more than 50 people to Canada for monetary reasons while risking his or her own life will have to spend 10 years in jail.

Mr. Toews stated clearly that Canada will not allow abuse of its immigration system either by people smugglers or those not willing to abide by Canada immigration rules.

The new stiffer and harsher penalties for human smugglers in response to the growing human smuggling activities in Canada which proved that Canada is being targeted by human smuggling networks, Toews.

The government of Canada had been promising tougher legislations ever since the officials caught a ship with 500 Tamils on B.C. coast this August. Almost a year ago, around 72 Sri Lankan Tamils had landed on Canada border. All such migrants have asked to be provided refugee status in Canada.

The officials say they have struggled for a long time to put together the rules that were approved by the Canadian PM (Prime Minister) Stephen Harper and cabinet.

The government of Canada stated that it will have to act tough or will be at risk of losing public support for Canada’s generous refugee and immigration system.

Thanks Mitali,

That means I can skip the RPRF for now and pay it later. Also please advice as quite a lot of my documents are notarized almost one year ago, do i need to get them notarized again.

The PCC and the IELTS are latest and need to be sent in original.

Sunny

Dear All,

Please also advice as I am confused, if to be on the safer side I decide to pay the RPRF fees than what would be the amount be :-

The following is the details:-
1. I am the principal applicant
2. My wife is dependent
3. My 19 years old daughter already studying in toronto for the past one year. dependent on me
4. My 14 years old son with me in India.

As per New Delhi VO the fees is reproduced as follows :-

Permanent Resident Fees
Skilled Worker applicants
Principal applicant 24,060 $550
A family member of the principal applicant who is 22 years of age or older, or is less than 22 years of age and is a spouse or common-law partner 24,060 $550
A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner 6,560 $150

This fee is payable by principal applicants (with the following exceptions) and accompanying spouses and common-law partners. It must be paid before the immigrant visa is issued overseas or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

Exceptions:

* dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
* protected persons, including Convention refugees

In this case they say that dependent children of principal applicant do not pay fees so I need to pay Rs 24060/- for me and 24060/- for my spouse. That is a total of Rs 48120/-

Please clearify.

Sunny
