Hi Mitali / Saki,

i gave the IELTS yesterday and hoping to score well. Note that in my application to CIO i have marked certain levels for my proficiency in english. What if i dont score as i have stated in the initial applicaton ?

Hi gavi,

I am sure you will score well. The IELTS score will be your only score card.

If you have marked yourself low on the form and get high on IELTS then you gain.
If you have marked high in the form and score low on IELTS then unfortunately you will be awarded the low score of IELTS.

I have joined this website just today. Good to see there is a forum on April 2010 Applicants.

My initial application was received by CIO, NS on April 28, 2010 as per DHL tracking receipt but I am yet to receive AOR as of today. My NOC is 0111.

May I know how many of the April Applicants are yet to get AOR like me.

Greetings,

I am collecting documents to submit to the consulate. I have two questions about the police certificates. My certificate from FBI is from 2009. Would it be acceptable or would I be asked to get a new one? What is the likelihood of being asked for a state police report from the US? Is it usually asked for? Should I apply for it now so I have it in case CIC wants it at a later date?

Hi Katie,

If I would have been the VO then for sure I would have approved your application... no doubts. Right now VO are extremely strict. How much time you have on your PCC?

If its going to be invalid in next two weeks and if your NOC IS in the NEW 29 list then you can send your application with the written statement.

1) Lets assume that VO is not satisfied with your proficiency (??) then you can reapply if you are in the New list of 29. But you have to provide new PCC and IELTS score and dont forget the waiting tme. Remember now with the new rules there is a cap of 1000 applicants/NOC. So there is a chance that by the time your new application reaches CIO, the cap is filled.

2) But if you have 120 day then you can redo your PCC, write the Academic IELTS and send the full application and be stress free.

Again choice is yours.

Hi,

I just don't get it as I have been advised to follow the NEW visa specific forms but the only difference between the New Visa specific forms and the old ones is the Language element therefore if I print out and follow the NEW form and use it as the cover sheet I will have to submit GENERAL IELTS which isn't possible now......or I follow the old visa specific forms which i already printed out and nclude the written submission or Academic test result. Its so annoying I'm going to call CIO and ask an agent as I cant contact London :-((

Hi hsid,

Your FBI and PCC should not be more than 3 months old when you submit your full documents to VO. State US PCC will be asked for at a later stage by VO, if required.

Suppose your application is received on 10th April at CIO and you get your PCC dated anytime after 10th April, you are fine.

But if your PCC is dated 10th Jan then that is the cut off date for the validity of your PCC (Consider the time it would require to reach CHC). That means PCC dated 9th Jan and earlier will be considered invalid.

I am Nevil from Abu Dhabi and May Applicant.I have a question which may seem silly.In the Payment form ,i have opted Credit card option and i have mentioned 16 digit credit card no. but have not mentioned the verification 3 digit no.Can somebody tell me with this 16 digit nos. credit card can be charged?!!

Yes it will be charged and no where in the payment form they have asked for the 3 digit no. so dont worry the transaction will go through.

One more thing is that My appllication reached on 27th May and my IELTS dates are in septemebr.so is that ok?Some guys are saying after 10th April one must submit IELTS results to CIO.I was thinking to submit it to CHC Delhi only.
