HELP SENIORS

I called CIO just now and the lady provided me a file number after verifying my name and DOB. The number provided by that lady started with "B" and followed by 9 digits. She also told me that my case will be processed by OCT end maximum. (standard reply...i guess) however i want to know that if a file number is generated for my case... how far could be my first AOR???

Thank you sooo much dear... thats fine i understand you were bz with your ielts and other documents so no worries at all. With your IELTS results you did well but it depends how much minimum you required to get 67 points.

Listening 7 = 2 points
Reading 7 = 4 points
Writing 6 = 2 points
Speaking 6 = 2 points

So total it will give you 10 points. How much you needed actually 10 or more ?

Hi Im about to send my full docs to buffalo now i have a question in signining and dating the forms

Should I put todays date or the one back in april when I submited to the CIO

I neve made photocopies but actually printed and signed 2 originals

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I re read the instructions a few times and it says photocopy forms and then send with original signature (i'm sure if they meant the date sent to CIO they would have said sign then photocopy) so i'm guessing use the current date.

Hi Priyanka,

I have seen some applicants before who faced the same problem and did'nt want to let the employer know about there immigration plans. What they have done is given an explanation to the visa office saying that they feared that they will loose there job if there employer come to know about this therefore they request to waive the requirement of employer reference letter, but they have given other proofs like payslips, employment contract and all other documents which shows that they are working with the company.

What I mean is I recently opened a bank account particularly for POF because my money before was in a form of time deposit and it was a joint account so I decided to transfer it to personal account. Please help i need your opinion.

Hi Sameer and Saki,

IELTS score requirement for Canadian Immigration Points was recently changed and that is what we see on the CIC website. CIC has now decreased the IELTS band requirement criteria for Canada Skilled worker Immigration points except for listening which has increased to 7.5 and the rest (writing,reading,speaking) at 6.5.

The earlier rule was : Band 7-9 would be 4 points.
Band 5-6.9 would be 2
Band < 5 would be 0

I calculated Sameer's points based on the earlier rule as he had applied earlier (pre 26th Jun) and thus 12 points. I was trying to research if he could still avail the 4 points for listening since he had applied earlier and get a total of 12 instead of 10.

But I guess as he has taken the test post 26th June he will fall in the new rule for IELTS score calculation. Though I am not 100% sure. CIC has mysterious ways of working.....hope Sameer gets 12 points.

I wanted to clarify and justify my earlier post on Sameer's point calculation. Sorry if I may have caused any confusion.

Good to see you back.... how's everything going?

1. Not necessary to show old account. But it is another way of confirming your deposits for pay etc.
2. Show the Time deposit was in your name ( should not be shared by someone who is not on your PR application)
3) Whatever money you are transfering should be in our name -Retain that proof.

Hi,

I did send my ielts result not sure about others but there are few april applicants who send application after 10th April and have successfully received the AOR, i dont know how they will treat May applicants because this rule started in April so they may have gave margin to April applicants.
