Guys,

No activity on our thread.

Just wanted to ask you guys that for the language proficiency, I selected that I have not taken the IELTS exam but I DID submit a written submission. My application was received on 4/12/2010 and I am from India.

Do you guys think it is okay or there is something I need to worry about?

Please let me know.

I would advise you to take IELTS now and submit to CHC,ND when the documents request comes through. Mind you, if the Visa Officer is not satisfied with your written proof, he will not ask for IELTS like in the old system. Straight away, no ( or lesser) points for language.

Why take the risk, sit for IELTS now!
 
no worries. you did`nt even had to submit written submission....... i am myself waiting for initial app`s approval (AOR + docs rqst to CHC) so i can proceed with IELTS and collect my missing docs .

if u have taken ielts then u can (adviced but not compulsory) attach a natarized copy for the test results with application to CIO.
if not then u can submit it later on provided you are not in the category of those applicants who choose to provide written submission of language proficiency as they wil lnot be getting any second chance to take the ielts exam in case the immigration people are not satisfied with the applicant's written proof of language proficiency

it says -]The written submission was intended for people whose first language is either English or French Now, applicants in these categories will have only one opportunity to prove their language ability,” said Minister Kenney. “They can still make a written submission to a visa officer if they wish, but only once.”“We strongly encourage applicants whose first language isn't English or French to take a language test,” said Minister Kenney.
