Hi,
Could you please keep us posted. My passports arrived VAC on 16th July, I just now called them and they could not track in their system. they said it means that they have not processed the passports (They might be still in the envelope with them).

Applied : 30 June
Passport request : 10 July
Passport Received to VAC: 16 July
No update as of 18th July even after calling VAC.

Thanks.
I called them up yesterday, they gave me same answer as they gave to u that they have not processed any documents related to my case so they cannot provide tracking numbers too.
I seriously dont understand why they are taking so long to process just the stamps, when they have already granted the visa's and requested the passports.

I got this email reply :

Your application is currently: Application received by the Visa Office – Under Consideration, which means that a visa officer is still assessing it. There are currently no additional documents or action required.

Please note that applications should be submitted in advance. Current average processing times can be found by clicking here. Hi everyone,
Here's my timeline. Applied from U.S., online.
Also, just for information, I have a Federal Skilled Worker application in progress and it didn't prevent me from getting a visitor visa (I've seen some people asking - so here's a proof that it's not an issue).

July 18 - Applied.
July 21 - Passport request (I guess I'm lucky - a passport request just 1 business day after applying).
July 22 - Passport received at Los Angeles VAC; Payment of $34.10 received by CSC Consular Services Inc.
July 23-25 - Passport transferred to Los Angeles consulate, visa stamped, passport returned to Los Angeles VAC.
July 25 - Got a message in MyCIC that my application was approved and closed.
July 26 - Passport sent back to me. This was Saturday, - not sure if it's VAC working overtime, or just USPS noticed an envelope 1 day after it was provided by VAC.
July 28 - Passport received.

I needed this visa for business purposes, so it's a multiple-entry "Visitor-Business" visa, B-1 category, valid till the end of validity of my passport (3 years).
After reading so much information that there's only one kind of TRV visa for Canada, I was rather surprised to see there's actually a difference between business and tourism visas.

By the way, does anyone know if I can later enter with this Canadian B-1 visa for tourism purposes?
Edit: Found the answer. Apparently, I can: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=456&t=16&y=1&s=1

Oh..I think I had seen your post. Good Luck on that.
I was not aware that one need a transit visa to travel through Canada. I had to apply for a transit visa for a one hour layover at Toronto and I am flying on Aug 14th. Fingers crossed.

Are you going to the US? Most countries which need transit VISAs will allow you if you are going to the US. France needs transit VISA as well and I didn't get on since my flight was to the US with a layover in Paris. Have you checked that?

I have a US F1 visa and I am a Indian citizen. I am flying to Sweden for 2 weeks in Air Canada and returning back to US. While coming back I wont be flying through Canada. I have a layover at Frankfurt.

I personally don't think you need a transit VISA. And I found a link to back my claim. I remember researching this a couple of years ago.

I went through this link. Since India doesn't fall under TWOV or China Transit Program I assumed I might need transit visa. I also heard one of my friend's instance where he was not allowed to board the plane to India since he didn't had Canada transit visa. In any case I will call Air Canada, put forward my case and get it confirmed if I do need transit visa.
