Applying together as a couple or separately for the tourist visa

Hi

I am asking this for a friend. Is it better that a couple apply at the same time for visitor visa or separately. I mean if they apply separately can that increase their chance to convince the officer about ties to the home country? In this scenario one of them applies first and then the spouse applies after the first one gets the visa

I think either way doesnt matter, im not sure theres an advantage.I personally would just do them at the same time get it done and over with.

One way or another IRCC will know one of you has a visa if you are successful. As you have to disclose your relationship in the application, you may find one of you won’t get a trv regardless of the other ones application status. And failing to disclose your relationship is misrepresentation, an avenue you don’t want to travel down.
