Has anyone had to apply for the US visa After they got Canadian PR?. What is the process?. is it easier to apply once you have PR Card/

Im from a country that requires a visa to visit the states . Ive had about ten prior visas to the states and am just wodnering if the process is different for canadian PR card holder or harder or easier??

I Live in nanaimo. can someone help?

Yes, it strengthens your residential status; therefore makes the VO believe that U will come back to Canada.

But, only being a PR status not guarantees your eligibility for US Visa. You will have to have some ties; Employment or Business, Bank Account, Student activity if you study or some assets that will make VO that you will come back for.

Normally, issuance of US visa from within Canada is much easier than that of other countries, based on the similarities between two countries ( Job market, economy, Culture, resources, environment etc). More or less, both Canadian and US residents get same facilities in their own country.

When applying for US visa, your Identity, Job and financial status are good enough to get approved.

Hope that it helps your asking. TC

I too agree with asiddiq. Me and wife applied for US visit visas after getting our PR Cards to attend our relative's marriage in Chicago. The US Consulate in Toronto rejected our application saying that we could not prove our strong ties with Canada. We re-applied after a year in Canada and got our visitor visas for multiple entry with 10 year validity.

I understand it is usually best for new Canadian PRs to wait a year to apply for a US visa. Since you previously held US visas though, you may find them more accommodating to you than someone who has never held one before.
