Hi guys,
My study permit and TRV both expire on Dec 27. I have planned a vacation to my home country for Christmas and New Year holidays so i already have tickets. Unfortunately, based on the processing times right now which is 73 days + 14 days for visa, my study permit extension will most likely not be approved before Dec 27, therefore i will not have time to apply for new visa after getting study permit.
I was wondering if there is a chance to apply for a new TRV, write a letter of explanation and attach my study permit application. Is it a valid reason to ask for a visa with current study permit expiring in 1.5 months and only application for an extension? Or should I just not leave Canada at all to not risk it?
I know second option is safer but we all want to see our family for such holidays and if there is any chance of getting visa approved before I leave I would be happy to know it.
