Applying for citizenship Tax Declaration

Hi all,

I have just completed by 1095 days in Canada and am about to apply for citizenship. I have a question regarding the tax declaration on the online application. I had done a soft landing for a week in 2018 and then left Canada for Dubai only to return in August 2019. When I finally moved here, and filed taxes for the first time in 2020 (for tax year 2019) I also filed my 2018 return alongwith my 2019 tax return. My question is because I did not live in Canada during 2018 (barring the soft landing for a week which was primarily to provide CBSA with an address to send PR card to) was I required to file taxes for 2018? On the citizenship application form, I am required to specify what years I filed taxes in and if I was required to. Was I required to file taxes for 2018?

It's fine to say "no" to both "required to file" and "filed" sections for that year if you only spent a week here. And having filed your tax for 2019, 2020 and 2021, you're good to go anyway.
