Today they updated the PR card processing time for newly arrivals to be 41 days instead of 51, they reduced it by 10 days. I hope they keep reducing it to get the PR card soon.

yesterday i did my landing in cottus border in alberta,and today i applied for new SIN card and got my temp. sin number.immigration canada din't ask single question from me , he just took my pp and corp and asked me to submit my workpermits and he dertroyed there and asked my address for mailing pr card and confimed some details like name,dob etc .put line on my visa and he welcome me to canada as resident .thats it,thats it took me only 7 mints on immigration counter.he also told you will get 45-90 days .

That is the second time i hear of taking the work permit away from the landed immigrants at the time of landing !

In my case everything went exactly as you explained in your landing except taking away my study or Off-campus work permits !

I did ask the immigration officer whether she needs them or not, and actually i handed them to her because i was under the impression that she is gonna take them away to destroy them, but she gave them back to me saying "i do not need all of that, just give me your proof of funds and that is it."

She did the same like your case exactly regarding everything else such as; stamping the passport with the entry and date stamp, putting a line on the visa because it is one entry, asking for the mailing address, letting me review the information written in the COPR and sign my initials in each available space to confirm that the information is true, and there is no mistakes.

She asked me to sign inside the green square on the COPR and she emphasized that i must not touch the borders of the square because it is the signature which gonna appear on my PR card.

She said, apply right away for the permanent SIN card and number, the OHIP card, and do not wait until the PR card arrive to your mailing address. She said as well "if you intend to leave canada make sure that you do not do so before you receive your PR card.


Finally she congratulated me and told me that the PR card is gonna be sent to my mailing address within 6 to 7 weeks, and asked me if i have any questions, and that was it.

Yes it means that your case is approved, and they are going to send you the passport request for visa issuance so soon. They never update the e-case to show the receipt of medical results unless the case is approved.

Why do you need FBI? I submitted mine last Feb and they did not ask for another after that. Did they ask you to provide an update?

By the way, garian4u, I'll be going to Buffalo on October 21. The rates for next week did not work out for me. And my schedule only allows me to go there by the 21st.
