That is a real nightmare when they break the happines of receiving the PPR. It looks like the consulates in the united states are running out of quotas for this year 2010 !

God helps them all:

@pro1
what i am trying to understand from this is, if the quota is completed for NY visa office, will it be the same for Buffalo Deteriot and other US visa offices... if thats the case no one from here shouldnt get PPR's... thats makes me annoying... as Buffalo being the major VO handling most of the FWS applications, this CAP of PRs really hurts

Our PPR letter said that the visa cannot be issue in any other office but Detroit. That was strange to me but maybe that is the reason. Each visa office has their quotas.

The answer is no.

The qouta will not be the same for all of them simply because some of them are bigger consulates dealing with bigger number of applicants and others are smaller.

Furthermore, not all the visa offices are going to issue the same number of visas at the same time during the year, which means some of them will run out of quotas before the others because they issued visas during the year more than others even if the they were given the same exact number of visas for each year.

So why don't they circulate the quota between Visa office :D?? is that any restriction here

I read in a few threads that nowadays it is taking around 8 weeks to get the PR card. I think you will get it this week. All the best.

I received my PR card on Oct 6.. It was mailed to my uncle's address ..

Thanks Pasi. Can't you delay your trip by 10 days? ;D That ways I can meet you in Buffalo i.e. if you are planning to drive from Buffalo ;D I will be there from 18th - 19th Oct.

oops.. sorry dude, i didnt see your message. I am in Toronto since yesterday. I was in Buffalo on Wednesday night and drove to Toronto yesterday afternoon. Crossing the border was quite easy, they did not ask my PR card. I just showed my passport and they said ok..

Hi Avaya,

Congratulations on getting the ppr, and hope you are not effected by the cap just go in person and get it stamped that's the best way.

So in this case, is it possible for me to get my passport stamped at Buffalo eventhough NY VO want me to send them passport. Can I just walk in to Buffalo office together with PPR and everything's ok??

No smallduck. If you are being processed at New York VO, then you can't go to Buffalo VO. Sadly, New York VO doesn't accept in-person.
