Hold your breath for a little more. It should be there this week.

One of the many reasons I feel why Buffalo is getting delayed is their constant asking for additional information.

A. They ask for documents that are not mentioned in the list initially. For example, they ask for copies of employment contacts and letters from supervisors attesting to the applicant's employment history. We send these documents. Then they ask for W2 (tax returns) for all years worked in the US.

B. They take longer than usual for initial processing. During this time, our FBI clearances (which I believe Buffalo considers valid only for one year from the day the clearance was issued) expire. Buffalo asks for an updated FBI clearance, which adds another 2-3 months to the processing. Back and forth with receiving documents, sending them, the consulate getting them and acting on them takes out around 6 months easily.

A possible solution to this problem: Send ALL documents related to employment , educational qualifications, civil status, etc that you have even if the visa office does not ask/need them initially. This saves considerable time. What happens in this instance is that if they do not need the documents they will trash them, no harm done here; but if they need to see those documents and they are present with the file, your time is saved!

Just a suggestion.

Yah right! I agreed w/ you mpapdp. :)

Cheers!

I'd go for the job. Why stay here in school, wasting a lot of money for tuition--I assume you're not a funded grad student? Change the address to your friend's in Canada and leave. You can always come back as a visitor or a student.

If all documents are in order and they do not need any additional documents, and the FBI certificate has not been more than one year old since they take up your file, medical request should come within a month.

Make sure you select "Immigration file number" in the "Identification Type" box along with other appropriate selections when you check your case status.

Hello

mpapdp.1984

That's what I did, but it's saying not able to identify. Also, it says "This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not yet begun processing it. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed"

I wonder that means they have received application but not yet begun processing. You know they just send AOR but have not yet change it online.

Thanks

Maybe they have issued an AOR but not yet entered it in their database. Try checking it after a week when the cases are updated (every Tuesday).

Yes that is correct. Typically it will take 1-2 weeks before it starts reflecting online.

Yes as the guys said above, for me my new file number from Buffalo started working on their online system after one week exactly form receiving the letter.

Is kind of funny how we struggle throught our applications. While this member posted the problem with his AOR, I just received an email from US immigration with receipt numbers for the final stage of my greencard application. I tried checking the numbers in case status and they would not show up. Checked with a customer service representative and they told me to wait for 72 hours before it would show up in the database!!!
