Sweet! Thanks for this info. It explains a lot, since only 4 left since I submitted my docs to Buffalo. Do you have any idea of what the processing time in Buffalo is?

I have been waiting for 1 year....

Hi jang,

The 120 days begins from the date of issuance of your CIO letter which is written under your full name and address at the top of the left side of the CIO letter.

Good luck.

Thanks professional,

For the FBI certificate, how did you send it. Coz the FBI paperwork says that only authorized personal like state departments can request the records.

Can we ourselves fringerprint on the FBI paperwork or is it necessary/compulsory to get it done by a professional like mail box stores?

Unfortunatly, i have no idea about the FBI clearance because i am in Canada not the USA, so i didn't have to submit that certificate.

Good luck.

Can anybody else from USA help me on this topic.....getting FBI clearance

If you search for "FBI Clearance" on this forum, you will get most of your answers in the first thread. Here is the short-cut anyway.

Jang, you can see the details about FBI clearance in the below link:

This is how I applied and got the FBI certificate. They take from 4 to 6 weeks to respond. And my advice it do the payment in cashier's check and by credit card. Some say credit card payment is delaying the process.

Welcome,

As you could read in previous posts, our journey has just begun, my application was received by Buffalo in Dec-30-2009. I haven't get my AOR which I am expecting it within the next 2 weeks, and then, grab a really comfy couch or sofa my friend because is going to be a long wait.

I believe your AOR should come by the first or second week of February.

Good luck

Hi omaus25,

Thanks for the information. It is going to be 4 weeks since my application reached Buffalo. I think it is taking 4 to 6 weeks for the AOR. I am waiting on mine. Have you got yours?

Hi Pasi,

Do you know what is average time at Buffalo after issueing second AOR till getting passports stampled. Thanks.

I think it is important to understand that timelines for the past are no indicator of how the current new process applications will be dealt with. Anyway Buffalo normally had taken about 18 months on average from AOR to passport stamping. There are cases that go well beyond that time frame as well but 18 months seems like about the average.
For the new process all I know is that no cases which had AOR in Feb 2009 and are based outside of Canada have had ANY reponse to date. How much longer it will take ( it is now 12 months) is anybody's guess.
