My application was received on 14th November 2008 by BUFFALO consulate and they sent me an AOR on 18th March 2009. I received an email last month (October 28th) that my application was being transferred to Detroit consulate for "expedited processing". Anyone got similar emails? Seems like Buffalo consulate is moving real slow (like a buffalo!!).

Just trying to add some humor amongst all this suffering.

Cheers

I have read of several people on this forum whose cases have been moved to Detroit by Buffalo. It clearly shows that Buffalo is not in a position to handle so many applications since they are LAGGING way beyond our expectations. While it is hard to predict at this stage how Detroit office would work, but one thing is for sure that Buffalo will take its own sweet time. Sweet ole Buffalo, my my.

@MarkCan:
No, I am not considering moving my application to New Delhi yet.
I guess I will have a valid reason only when I return to India - that's when I will move papers..

Another applicant from New Delhi who has got his visa in 8 months. His timeline is as follows:

NOC 3142.
Time line:
Initial application: 16/03/2009.
NS Aor: 11/04/2009
Full application: 17/07/2009
In Process (e cas): 17/09/2009
Medical & Passport request: 26/09/2009
Medical & Passport send: 30/09/2009
Decision Made (e cas): 13/10/2009
Visa received: 19/10/2009

Wohoo, God has a strange way of screwing with Buffalo applicants. He applied after me and yet he got his visa. I wonder if there are certain NOC categories that are getting preference over others.

Friends,

One quick question. As I stated earlier my application submitted to Buffalo (Nov 14 08) was transferred to Detroit (Oct 27, 09). The email said that the "Consulate General in Detroit will complete the analysis of your application and determine if a personal interview with a visa officer is required".

Now does this mean that myt application has passed the initial screening that needs a person to be in the list of occupations (38). My guess from this is that either they will call me for an interview or send me the papers for my medicals.

Anything else that can be read from this development?

Thanks

mpapdp.1984 ,

Yes of course, you passed the eligibility review, and your application is being processed at the visa office now. If they find that an interview is required for any purpose, they will call you. Otherwise, they will send you the medical checks, RFPRF, along with request for any extra documents (if applicable), followed by the passport request.

Good luck.

Thanks professional for the quick reply.

Let's all hang in there until we scrape through!!!

Good luck

mpapdp, please keep us posted on your developments.
All the best!!

Today they changed the order of my mailing address on the E-case status, i do not know what is the importance of doing so but at least it gives a little hope that there are still alive people in Buffalo.

My client status has not changed since I received the AOR. It keeps showing "Application Received" every time I check it. I wonder if they will ever change it!!

mpapdp.1984,

It doesn't matter, as long as they keep communicating with you via email or mail, you still in the safe side. The e-case status does not reflect the actual progress in your application, usually it gets updated very late comparing with the actual movements of the application.

mpapdp.1984:

Maybe it is just me, but the way I interpret the status of your application is that so far Buffalo has just transferred your case to Detroit (most likely due to heavy traffic in Buffalo). Let me quote the first few words from your AOR - "Consulate General in Detroit WILL complete the analysis of your application....."

So far, they have not completed the analysis of your application. Maybe it has started, maybe not. The only way to know for sure is if they correspond with you asking you to submit your medicals or if your ecas status changes to "In Process". But like Professional1 said, sometimes ecas status is of no consequence.

I recently found out that if you are applying from Canada (either working as a professional on work permit or as a student in Canada), it is very likely that Buffalo will consider your application before that of someone who is working/studying in USA and applying to Buffalo. So, maybe that is good news for folks in Canada who are using Buffalo as the visa office.

Hi all,

Is there anyone who applied in Buffalo after CIO approval in SEP.2009 with AEO and got his AOR??

MY file was received by buffalo on 16th sep.2009 but no AOR yet. well, one of my friends told me that in buffalo if you have applied with AEO then your procedure regarding AOR would be different than the peeps applied without AEO.

What do you think guys.......

THANKS

prcanada:

I have been tracking a few people who applied from Canada (to Buffalo) and compared their timeline with those who applied from USA (same timeline) and thus came to the conclusion that people who apply from within Canada are processed faster than those applying from USA. Obviously, CIC will not tell you something like that out in the open.
