I guess I should have received my AOR from Buffalo by now then.

Hi guys, just new update for my case, i received the AOR letter from Buffalo today by "Email"

Full application with supporting documents were received by Buffalo office on: 24 september 2009
AOR letter sent by email toady: 21 October 2009 (28 DAYS)

The letter contains the same information as yours exactly: my full name, new file number, and the same format that they send to everyone.

Good luck.

Well, the key here is patience, I assume. Even if you applied before "someone" to Buffalo and you find that that "someone" has received the file # before you, that is not a cause to be disheartened. Based on my limited understanding of the issue, NOC category also plays a big role in how fast your application is processed. If you are in a category that is very much in demand, they will sideline others even if they applied earlier. Once again, just my thought process based on some feedback from others on similar forums.

Good to know that you have started the process. Within the next 2-3 weeks, you should get your AOR from Sydney, NS. Then you have 120 days to send the documents. So, good luck with the whole process and keep in touch via this forum.

Thanks MarkCan.....I have started collecting documents (being optimistic that i will get a green signal frm CIO..:)..)........Transcripts in process....Experience docs in progress......PCC -- need to get for - Virginia, Mass, Michigan, Florida and FBI......IELTS- Done.....etc.
Do you think AOR will come in 2-3 weeks ?.....i guess it was faster in May- June......but nowadays i thought it takes least 6-8 weeks for AOR.

I am trying to get info for applying Police Clearance certificates in 4 states. I am not sure if i need to send Fingerprints for these 4 states. I know that i should send Fingerprints for FBI Clearance.

-Seniors Please let me know if Fingerprints need to be sent with PCC request for - Virginia, Massachusetts, Michigan and Florida...?

Thanks a Lot.....

I don't think you need state clearances. You just need one overall clearance. You can re-check on the CIC website as well. I am pretty sure it is single clearance. At least that is what I did after checking with the CIC website. Good luck with document collection.

Hi,

I submitted my Application for Federal Skilled Worker to Buffalo Office last week of September'09.
Recently I got an email from Buffalo with a new file #.
My question is, What is the next step I should be waiting for ?
They have generated a new file #. Does it mean they have already validated my documents and started processing on my application ? When can I expect for the instructions for medical test to come ?
Guide me guys.

zoom.84:

The next step now is to wait for further instructions from Buffalo. Once a file number is generated by Buffalo, all it means is that they have generated a case # for you. Then the assessment starts. Medical is kinda the second-last step. If your application is in accordance with the minimum point system and all the documentation is complete as per CIC instructions, then they will send you a letter stating that the assessment is complete and that medicals must be completed. So, just wait and see what happens next.

Hi,

My file was received by buffalo on 15th September 2009 but still no AOR. Any body else with the same timeline please share.............tanks

bravo:

Sometimes it takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks to get the AOR. In your case, it has been 4 weeks but give it about a week or two before you think of taking some action.

Here is a link to an article that probably explains why Buffalo is slow these days. Visa officers at Buffalo have other targets to achieve (CEC, PNP) before they come back to FSW. No wonder Buffalo is so slow.
