I've been RBVO for 3 months (104 days).

Sigh.

Getting very concerned since it'll be a year since my IELTS Results on the 13th August (which kind of puts it into perspective how slow this process is). If I'm still RBVO then, will I have to redo the IELTS since they're only valid for a year?

I wouldn't think that at all, CJ. I think that they are "locked in" on the date of application being received by CIO. Hang in there!

That's good. And I am trying to!

What about Police Certs? I hope those are the same way.

Congratulations,

did your address disappear from ECAS in the last week or so.

RaWheAl
Hi,

No our address did not disappear. However we have recently sold our house, moved and emailed our new address to CIC. They sent the med requests to our old address! ECAS still shows our old address. Luckily we forwarded our mail via Royal Mail. We have lost ten of the sixty days in which we have to reply!! PCCs requested today and meds to be arranged on Monday for ASAP!

Good luck!

Do you know who received the documents?

Hi, I recently sent my PCC to Buffalo VO. I made a mistake in the address part. I didnt mention the "Immigration Regional Program Centre" in the address and just wrote the following address:

Consulate General of Canada
3000 HSBC Center
BUFFALO, NY 14203-2842 US

I was looking at their website and it had the "Immigration Regional Program Centre"
also mentioned in the address. I am hoping it goes to the immigration department and not lost somewhere else. Did anyone else make this mistake and had the docs delivered at the right address?

All the best,
Wayne.

Police certs alas, are not "locked in". We had to get fresh certs with our medical requests even though our originals were valid up to 17th July 2011. Ironically, when we get our visas on 21st July they would have expired by 4 days!!! So guess it's a good job they asked for fresh ones with the medical requests to avoid further delay.

Makes me mad that they don't send these by email - or at least an email to inform you that they are on their way. Furthermore they go by standard post. It only takes a postman to push it through the wrong letterbox and you might not ever know you even had it until they fail your application for not taking medicals within 60 days! Just stupid!

After exchange of couple of emails, London VO agreed to resend my Med Request Documents after reconfirming my postal address. It should be on the way by now.

Hope not to loose them in transit this time around.

--- y do VO not use a reputed courier service especially for international posts, with a tracking facility. Also, courier companies usually give a mobile call to all addressee if they feel confused about the address location. Depending on governmental postal service on such time critical correspondences do not make sense in todays world.

I agree that it is stupid that they use Snail mail for everything including passports (at least here in the US). They should provide the option for people to create a courrier accound (FEDEX/DHL/UPS, etc) and charge their account for correspondence. In the US this is an option to get police certs from the FBI at least. It would be nice if VO's and CIO's would offer something similar at our own expense...

Hi guys,

Ok we took our passports to CHC London today. Not much I can really add other than to mirror Danishsmooro's experience.

We got there at about 1.40pm. Basically there are 2 entrances to CHC London - 1 Grosvenor Square which overlooks the green lawn square, and 38 Grosvenor Street which is to the side. It's 38 Grosvenor Street you'll want to be queuing at. There's a small sign on the left which says "Queue here" however you should know that as you face the door, people dropping off passports queue on the left hand side, people picking up passports queue on the right hand side. A security guy will come out before they are about to open to double check everyone is in the correct queue.

There were about 15 people in front of us when we got there. They started letting people in just before 2pm, with those collecting passports going first. They were all done by 2pm (very quick to collect).
Actually someone from BritishExpats forum who was collecting her passports recognised me from a photo on my blog and said hello to us as we were queuing :)

We got in there about 2.15pm I guess. The security guy said we needed chart, passports and photos, and that only 1 of us could approach the desk so I stayed in the lobby whilst my wife went up to the desk. She said a Canadian lady asked her to read her file number, then they took the documents which passed through a metal detector.

You then get a sheet of paper asking you to come back in 2 weeks with a raffle ticket attached to it! I assumed this was a metaphor but no - it is an actual raffle ticket! I was expecting a least something with a maple leaf on it, not something from a tombola stall! I wonder if there are prizes like a joint of beef involved? ;p

A bit of an anticlimax but I am sure it is a lot more exciting collecting the visas in 2 weeks time! :)

Btw Kolhapuri - went to a Fusion Indian restaurant tonight in London before we got the train back, and one of the curry dishes there was called Kolhapuri! :)

I didn't realise your use name was named after a curry? ;)

Excellent news - glad July 2010 applicants are finally getting medical requests! :) I have updated your row in the spreadsheet.

Asaif has their been any movement for your application yet?
