Worried:
I submitted my application few days back but am worried about a mistake which I just noticed in my fee payment form. I entered correct number of family members i.e. 1 but by mistake have typed $500 instead of $550 in the corresponding fee cell.
However in the total have put the correct figure i.e. $ 1100 and have send the BD of the same correct amount.
Now this typo is rattling in my head and would request you people to share your opinion about the severity of such mistake.
God is great so lets face the fact and share expert views of seniors to clear up some uncertainty.

It'll probably be OK. I put the wrong Post Code in the address part of the form (I put a copy of my address in there because I was paranoid!) and it went through fine, though getting the numbers wrong isn't quite the same. Considering you paid the correct amount and it isn't a Credit Card that even needs to be authorized with that total I don't think you'll have any problems.

Also Congrats bindu.allam, thats awesome about the ECAS! *goes to check mine*

The most important thing is the payment itself. Did you pay by credit card or banker's draft? If credit card, did you authorise the correct credit card amount? If banker's draft have you enclosed the correct fees?

A minor mistake in arriving at your $1100 I don't think would be a problem as long as the total is correct. As long as they can take the correct funds then IMO you should be ok.

And, once again, may I please request people keep their religious beliefs to themselves. I don't come onto this forum to be preached at or listen to how God is great.

My ECAS works too! And mine is In Process as well! I had to select United Kingdom and Colonies instead of England, which I'm not sure I'd even tried before anyway :P

When I click on the "In process" link I see this...
We received your application for permanent residence on August 20, 2010.

Medical results have been received.
Er... what? :-X If you say so CIC...

I was the opposite, I'd been trying "United Kingdom and Colonies" for ages and didn't even see the "England" option until last week when someone pointed it out at the Britishexpats forum. Anyway, "United Kingdom and Colonies" worked for us.

I really don't think the "In process" thing can be trusted as long as it says something as stupid as "Medical results received". So I guess we'll have to wait it out until we get a more accurate and useful update.

They update it every Tuesday so maybe by next Wednesday they will have fixed this blatent error.

But it gives us something to check each week now whilst waiting to hear from VO :)

:DOMG!!!! I JUST GOT MY PER :D
My file number starts with E. Do you guys think its normal?? and the date of encashment is 30th september as per CIO. Im very grateful to the forum for being there during the insane waiting period.
My ECAS is already showing IN PROCESS :D

Congrats guys :) Expecting more today :)

Great news on the ECAS status :) I wish i tried to check mine too :(, i don't have a file number with me ??? ???

Is it worth calling them up to ask for my file number?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

What I find interesting is it's exactly 7 months to the day since they introduced the new system that ECAS goes live. Perhaps this is just a milestone on their implementation timeline? Or just coincidence...

Hey Indira,

Pls provide CIO contact nos., even i'm thinking of calling them today. Though I have Paper file no. starting B************ but I'm not able to see my e-cas status.

Hope everything is fine.

Regards, Raj.

Wayne.

When I applied for my PR in 2003 as quebec selected, I got the "IN PROCESS" until I got the PR visa. So IN PROCESS status will stay there for months.

The good thing in the other hand, is that the e-cas was filled before by VO (for pre-june applicant) after they receive teh documents and tehy check them, that why you will find that the date of the application is the date the VO received the document from applicant (and not the date the application was received in CIO).

Now the e-cas is being filled by CIO, I strongly think now that the VO will not re-do the eligibility review from scratch, it will complement the work done by CIO.

One more thing, the VO agents are not as active as CIO agents when it comes to e-cas update, so don't stress if the status doesn't change for the next 6 months.

Dear admin, my e-cas status says in process, date application recd, and "medical results received" LOL
