hi snipper...sad to hear about ur case....it was a long wait and I commend for ur patience.... ;)

did u receive enough points when u did ur online point assessment????

brother's PR in Canada should be alright to give u 5 points for adptibility....I think u should email them before they return ur application...just give a try before they return ...may save u time.....

or u can appeal when u receive the whole package.....but IMO u should not have any problem as they clearly suggest brother or sister even in their forms that we filled...

u could get another 2 pts for ielts.....16pts will get u thru' to 67

all the best

Finding a Canadian to marry or a partner to live with purely for immigration purposes is illegal and paramount to fraud, and in recent years CIC have been clamping down on this big time. Marriage is supposed to be a special thing, regardless of your religious beliefs, and is certainly not something to be taken lightly or used as a tool to get into another country!

IMO the best course of action is as Jimmy has suggested. Send a fax stating you believe they have made an error, and send as much further proof of your relationship to your brother as possible. Be sure to double check the exact requirements on your visa-office specific check list.

Has your brother been a permanent resident for at least 1 year (before the date of your application)?

Wayne.

we are waiting with you, zint.
We have had the same reply from CIO - file received and in processing, nothing missing or wrong with it they say. We don't understand the delay either but keep waiting and hoping.
Keep positive! :D

Queencougar,

Obviously you are hoping it doesn't come to this (and so am I!) - but have you found out the likelyhood your OH will be able to renew LMO/TWP in July and what's involved? May be worth starting to prepare for that in case things drag out longer than July before your case is finalised.

I'm in the similar situation as Queencougar... TWP is expiring in several months...
Should I reapply the TWP as soon as I receive the PER? Will I still need a new LMO?

thanks!

Hmm I am not the expert really on the TWP/LMO thing but as I understand it you need a fresh LMO in order to apply for a fresh TWP. The employer may have to advertise the job for a couple of weeks before HRDSC will grand a new positive LMO.

Can anybody else comment?

I think my case should be a TWP extension rather than a fresh one.

I remember I read from somewhere that after you receive AOR/PER, you should be able to get a TWP fairly quickly. But I need some confirmation. thanks

Hi snipper...
sorry to hear about your case :( , I hope you can change it with your appeal.

Hi,
They are 7.5 hours ahead of us, so I think their start time would be around 3:30 - 4:00 Iran time, but I don't know till what time in the PM they go on ( and these days I doubt if they go on at all :'( )

salam,

nice to see u guys in this forum,i have an inquiry, when does CIO start & finish job in IRAN time?

there's a really slow move at CIO. Is having an AEO an advantage in terms of processing time?

I don't know how to make an appeal or where to start, all of the documents are there ... I don't want to think that they haven't see it or mislook at it. but it sad i made an online assessment and got 70 points... and its clearly stated in the form that we filled up i tick the box that i have brother in canada.. i dont know what kind of form they really need to award the 5 points..

This is not first CIO mistake. They play with our lifes.

Seems PER supply is very slow from CIO.
I was thinking by the end of February 2010, they will finish giving PERs upto December applicants.
But I guess they will take little longer than that.

Hi Wayne:

Interesting point, being a permanent resident for at least 1 year... I checked both the OP6 and general guidelines and could not find anything... Could you please let me know where you read this, thanks.

@ Snipper, I would follow what CanadaJimmy has suggested, it is simple, quick, and we know he got immediate results with his own case... Best of luck.

Question to wayne, Indira, amro, anil and others,

Did anyone receive any response from their respective VO?
June applicants should hear somehting since they received PERs long back?

Sorry to ask this since I am not so regular on forum these days.

Thanks in advance.
