application times for inlanders

Hi

When people put their time line in and they say application received...is this by confirmation from CPC Vegreville or from the signature from the mailing?

I sent my inland application on May 8th 2010...how long will it be before i hear anything back from CIC? it says they are processing applications from Nov 2009...does this mean mine wont be opened for 6 months and then i will have to wait another 6 months for it to get AIP??

It uaully takes them about two months to open the package, I've found. This is the point at which there will be a record of your applicaiton; but they won't tell you when they do. You can confirm whether they've opened the package by calling the CIC, though.

The first letter you'll get is after the initial sponsor assessment - about 9-10 months after your applciaiton was submitted, by current estimates.
