Hello Guys,

I applied for Canadian PR under the Federal Skilled Worker category in may 2010. Last week I received a letter from CIC office that my application has been rejected, the reason they gave me was that my payment was declined. I opted to pay through credit card while i was submitting the application. I checked with my bank they say that its a CVV error. I rechecked the application form wherein there was no option to fill up CVV number.

Now CIC has revised the category list for FSW and unfortunately my category i.e Finance Manager ( 1112) has been removed. Now I am not sure as to under which category should I apply. Can anyone advise.

Thanks
Punam

Am I imagining it, or was there a post in the past month about reversing rejections due to banks declining credit card payments? Does anyone else remember this???

Thanks a lot guys ...

P.S: Thanks Rehaan for the boost .... I shall do the same.

Hi Punamsultania,

I had the same issue, My application was returned to me because my credit card was decline and they requested that i could resubmit if i wish and attach the appendices. i did returned my application two weeks after with another credit card info even with the fact that my NOC is 1111 and i also wrote to them a letter to apologize on any inconvenience i might have caused. It did worked, i got my Aor about 3weeks after i resubmitted my application on 25/08/10.

It now depend on your case, where you ask to resubmit? If no still try to resubmit with another payment info since your only reason for rejection is the credit card. I believe you will be lucky, remember to pray along with it cos prayer works.

Best of luck.

And this time, pay with a demand draft. Why would you choose the credit card option again?

Hello Guys ... Thanks for all your comments ... I have received message from bank that my credit card was charged with visa fees on friday. I am very excited and happy, but i have not received any email confirmation from them, could anyone advise what would be the next step.

PS: Rehaan did you hear from them ???

Thanks

wait for one -two month minimum

IMO send them the entire application back with a new form containing your card details and the CVV written on the side (even if there is no space for it). Explain that this was not your error, that everything was written correctly and that the form does not allow space for the required CVV number, and request that you be re-entered into their processing queue based on the date your original application was received.

I have heard some people be re-placed in the processing queue after a failed payment rejection, so it is definitely possible and definitely worth a try.

However, it is rather hit and miss. CIC are probably not keen on placing rejected applications back in the processing queue if they are no longer on the in-demand list. It probably boils down to what the immigration officer who picks up your returned application has had for breakfast and what mood they are in. But since the matter was not any fault of yours it is definitely worth persuing.

If that doesn't work then your only option is to see if you have any experience in the last 10 years in one of the current 29 in demand occupations, otherwise you will need a job offer or persue a different route such as provincial nomination (although with provincial nomination you'll still need a job offer, but it is a bit easier since the employer doesn't have to get an LMO).

Best of luck,
Wayne.

1. Looks like you are out of luck. 1122 is Capped, so you will have to see if it is in Next July's NOC list. Then you re-apply.
