Hi everyone,
I’m nearing the end of my current Working Holiday visa and am now applying again under a different category. However, I've realized that I made a few mistakes in my previous application that I want to correct this time around. I'm wondering if I should go ahead with the correct information now, or keep it consistent with my previous application to avoid suspicion. Here are the mistakes I made:
In both applications, I’ve answered truthfully to the best of my knowledge. It's just that now I’m better informed, and some of my responses will naturally differ.
My concern is:
Should I correct these mistakes in my new application, or keep the answers consistent with my previous one? I’m worried that updating the information could make it seem like I was dishonest before.
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you can share!
- Education History:
I attended two universities for my bachelor’s degree. I dropped out of the first one before completing the first semester, and I left the second one after completing 4 out of 7 semesters. In my previous application, I listed both under "Bachelor" education. I now understand (after reading this forum) that I should have categorized them as "Secondary" since I didn’t complete either degree. At the time, it wasn’t clear to me, and I didn’t claim to have finished them - just entered what I thought was appropriate. I now realize that was incorrect. - Citizenship:
I didn't declare any citizenships other than my main one. I thought I didn’t officially "have" the others since I didn’t hold passports or go through any formal procedures. However, I’ve since learned that I’m considered a citizen of those countries by descent, even without formal confirmation. I believe I should have declared them. - Work History:
I selected "Business, finance and administration occupations" for my previous work experience, but I now believe the correct category would have been "Natural and applied sciences and related occupations."
In both applications, I’ve answered truthfully to the best of my knowledge. It's just that now I’m better informed, and some of my responses will naturally differ.
