Hello All,

Just thought this post will help someone. I'm In-Land CEC applicant.

Application AOR was 26th Feb, as part of Medicals, submitted my kid ASD diagnosis report only. No School report or any other report is shared nor IRCC asked for it.

Medical approved on Sept 10th including Kid.
Criminality/Security/Background Check - Sept 16th
Portal Mail for PR confirmation on Sep 16th
Received eCOPR on Sept 18th..

I know it takes quite a while and there is no specific pattern which we can predict when an application will be approved. It may or may be get delayed, but it will get approved for sure. Just wait for your time.

All the very best for each one of you !

Thanks
Hi. Can I please ask what grade ASD did your child have (as in what were the needs and support required.

Absolutely clueless on that front. We are still not sure on the status of our daughter's file bcoz the re-med request did not come for her. Spouse & I completed our re-med today, so the results should hopefully be updated to our profile through eMedical in a week. I guess we'll know in a week or two if the status changes in our CIC account.
Hi. I’m a newbie here and have gone through entire 48 pages of this thread to follow your case. My son has autism, issues with focus considerable speech and understanding delay but is verbal, going to a mainstream school with supervision for educational needs at school. No specialist/doctors reviews or medications otherwise. I was hoping if you could explain the symptoms your daughter has, as mostly people of this forum say mild/ moderate and its hard to understand what is mild and moderate to them. Thank you
(Also fingers crossed for your story’s happy ending)

In my case, its moderate, My daughter is non verbal but she is improving, however she goes to regular school and gets speech therapy and occupational therapy and no doctor review and no medication, She is doing her school work with help an education assistant.
However these facilities do not come under excessive demand as per the 2018 public policy of medical admissibility.

When you say with help of an education assistant can I please ask is it like a one on one assistance? Actually my son is 5.5 , ASD, verbal but delay in speech and understanding, mainstream school with speech therapy (rare sessions), needs supervision throughout school day via teaching assistant. I wonder id that comes under excessive demand at all.

My daughter is 8 years old actually she speaks a few words. Yes its one on one assisstance. same here, need supervision throughout the school day. Nope it doesn't come under excessive demand. You can go through that public policy. Mine AOR 7th April-PNP-Inland

Can you please share your timeline.

These are the review comment in GCMS:

"I have reviewed the medical assessment of the MOF related to the medical conditions of XXX . Tt is determined that the applicant meets the criteria and conditions of the Temporary Public Policy regarding Excessive Demand on Health and Social Services announced on June 1, 2018. I am therefore granting an exemption from paragraph A38(1)(c) of the IRPA. Medical for XXXX passed with a validity of one year. "
Can I please ask what symptoms/needs does your child have?

we have yet to start the process actually via express entry. I’M a GP here in UK so I’ll have to write exams etc as well hence trying to get as much information as possible to see what are the chances of my son getting PR.

Its a bit tricky when it comes to measuring what severity the policy covers, as I've seen cases of child with CP been passed. Likewise, a family with 2 kids with ASD.

My daughter is 7, non-speaking, doesn't go to a regular school yet (thanks to COVID) and takes online sessions for Speech Therapy, OPT and Special Ed. So all we have is progress reports from her therapists. "Excessive Demand" is something thats incomprehensible for us parents at this stage cos the files invariably go to a central team for multiple reviews. We just need to ensure we provide the latest reports that would explain the "progress" and hope things move forward.

Personally, I absolutely hate associating ASD with the term "Excessive Demand" in today's day and age. But it is what it is!

Its being 11 months since applied, Im a provincial nominee live in BC Canada for about four years. No way to contact IRCC and applied for GCMS notes in Oct never received them. Now the prime minister says, they are prioritizing Ukraine applications, this is crazy, so stressful.:(

To know they'd have to abandon files yet again is terrifying

Sounds great. Hopefully you'll get your ppr soon. BTW, is your eligibility passed or still in progress because of the pending medical?
