Please has anyone seen a situation whereby an application was cancelled when the ECAS was in process? Also, what is the probability of it being cancelled? My ECAS changed to in process 2 days ago. I'll be very grateful to see responses from you guys. Thanks a lot!

My ECAS changed to "In Process" today and much as I hate this thread, please do confirm if anyone has got their application cancelled at this stage or can I drink myself silly this weekend! ;D

I think it's rare enough for you both to relax but it has occurred (although I only know of one instance):

ECAS is kind of just a tracking system to tell people at what stage its at, so theoretically there's no reason it couldn't be cancelled or rejected. Until PR is granted, nothing is certain.

Hulahoop, which one were you referring to on that thread?

Thanks for that much needed note of sobriety, Purplesnow. When ECAS is "In Process", is it safe to assume that the application is complete and CIC is awaiting security check and criminal verification?

According to CIC's FAQ's. All 'In process' means is that they have the application but no decision's been made. Take from that what you will.

Been there, seen that :-X

I guess I was just hoping to hear a reaffirmation of my own beliefs from you and clearly that wasn't the case here. With CIC, it ain't over till it is over.

Nothing else to do but wait now...

Asivad - I just noticed your timelines in your signature. See I don't think ECAS and MYCIC are connected properly. My ECAS still just says application received, but my MYCIC is telling me my background check is in progress. Your bg check isn't yet started but your ECAS is in process. It just seems sort of disconnected from each other and my gut tells me MYCIC is probably more reliable? I could be wrong. I'm just wary of getting my hopes, or anyone else's up too much.

saying that, all positive changes in the profiles are good so still celebrate.

I hear you and I totally understand what you're saying! You made a lot of sense in your last post.

I've just gotten off the phone cancelling the party plans this weekend. :)

haha, sorry, didn't mean to be a downer about it! Party like its your last weekend waiting for PR :)

Ain't that all we've been hoping for all this while... But maybe I'll just serve my time for a while. :D

Hey Purplesnow,

there seems to be a trend for the BG check. for candidates inside canada, it changes (most times) around same time your meds are received.
for candidates outside canada, the trend has been that BG check goes to in progress when PPR is around the corner. Unlike candidates inside canada, when meds changes to passed, our own BG changes to Not started

Hi, Hopefulguy, if that's the case, then my status is super strange. I am outside Canada. My BC check goes to in progress the same day I submitted my files (AOR). That's May 7, 44days ago. Yet my ME result remains "Review in progress" so far. And My ECAS changed to "in process” two days ago. It seems mine follows no pattern at all!

FSW, one-year experience as visiting PHD student in Canada, and my application under the 2014 policy is also in progress. Don't know if either of the two factors accounts for the weird situation here.

hmm.. interesting.
PPR= Passport Request? I'm from a visa exempt country, no one from mine has been asked to submit the actual passport, beyond the scanned copy so maybe there's some link there too..? my background check changed the day they updated my medicals, mind I'd done them two months beforehand so they'd been sitting in some cyber black hole for god knows how long.
