I hope you can guide me with my query ....

What is the official document in Nepal that is equivalent to marriage certificate? I know nagarpalika or ward office issues "Marriage Registration Certificate (MRC)", but can we use this for immigration proposes in Canada?

Also, if anyone of you have experience in getting MRC from Kathmandu nagarpalika or its ward office, what are the required documents, process, time to get such certificate? Is such certificate in nepali or english?

Yes MRC can be considered for immigration purpose. In my case, initially,I and my spouse went to ward office with nagarikta of both and got recomendation letter for the same and finally we both went to nagarpalika and made MRC in same day. My MRC issued by nagarpalika is in both Nepali and English languages.

It depends on where you permanently reside. If you are inhabitant of ktm , you could get it done from Kathmandu Municipality.

Apparently, in KTM you can do this from ward office within a day but the certificate is only in Nepali.
