Hi Ice cube

Congrats on getting your medical request, that great news. I was a bit concerned over the time taken from in process to medicals. As for what I read on this forum most other VO's the time taken to request medical from status change to IN PROCESS is about 3 to 4 months. But with Colombo CHC its seems to be different. Your e-cas will change to IN PROCESS soon but medical come somewhat later.

In my case my e-cas status changed mid May to In Process, Its now almost 7 months. Based on you time line hopefully I should get it Dec/Jan.

Thanks for sharing your status, and congrats again

Good Luck
Cheers

Thanks await. My application is a bit complicated one. I was requested additional documents for three times. Every application is dealt on individual basis. I know there are few other colombo applicants who got their applications completed within 9 months. You and everyone else in this thread should get the medical Request quicker than mine.
Thanks again

I am just concerned that you may get updates on your application status delayed since you are dealing with a consultant. But that is not the situation, right? Is your consultant located in vancouver by any chance?

Yeah, I think the NOC code does have some kind of influence so as to how fast our applications are processed. Usually, when we get our second AOR, it specifically says how long it would take to process our applications before medical Requests are sent to us. However, my second AOR didn't say such a thing and, when inquired from CHC, I was told that the application was queued up to be reviewed by immigration officer. I understand that my application has been worked upon on a continuous basis. So the best way for us to figure out how long we have to wait before medical requests is to rely on what our second AOR says. The good thing is that the processing time will not exceed the duration mentioned in our second AOR. That (processing time mentioned in our second AOR) gives us a good idea of when to expect medical request. I had a terrible time waiting for medicals and i am sure you guys are going through such a period now.
Good luck!

Hi all

Has anyone got any updates regarding medical request? Its been 8 months since I got my 2nd AOR and 7months after my case went in to IN PROCESS. I made a case specific inquiry about a month back and they replied by saying my file is yet to be reviewed. However my e-cas states that my file has been reviewed and that they have begun processing. Any advice? I know that many in CHC Colombo including Sagara are waiting for a long time after e-cas has changed to in process. Sagara's and my case are just 2week apart. Do you guys thing I should order CAIPS or wait a bit longer?

Thanks, Good Luck to all.

Hi await, I got the same reply when i enquired about my application status about five months back when my application was "in process" that the application was in the queue to be reviewed by a visa officer. So I think that could have been a regular email responses to email inquiries when application is in IN Process. In my case, it was almost 9 months past when i got the medical request. In process stage takes about maximum 9 months to issue Med Request under the fast track system, (not for all applications). So I would suggest you to wait for another three to four weeks and if you still do not hear anything from CHC, make an inquiry again. if you do not get favorable response even after that, You may want to order CAIPS to see what's going on with your application.

Hi Ice Cube

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah I think you are right and will take your advice and wait till Jan next year. Anyway I really don't think anything much is going to happen in December. As for what I've read in this forum most other CHC the medical request comes almost as soon as the case goes in to in process. It looks like Colombo is a bit different that way, the case changes to in process quickly but you have a long wait after that for medicals.

Anyways will keep my fingers crossed, Many thanks Ice cube appreciate it.
Cheers
