Candid Advice Needed.

I got MR and RPRF request last week (done and result sent). I was also told to send a police character report for my wife which should get to me by Wednesday. I was thinking of sending our passport along with the police character,since that is the next requirement after passing medical. Is this a right thing to do? Please advise me..

Absolutely not. it is not recommended to send passport before they actually ask for it.

I was wondering if you have sent the bank statements stating that you have sufficient amount (Settlement funds) of money in your account while you were submitting the formal application. If not, i would highly recommend you to send at least last six months statements from your bank and get them stamped from bank officials.

Could anyone please comment on this!!!

Did anyone (who have already received MR and RPRF or even passport request) got settlement funds request even after you submit bank statements (Proof of funds) along with your formal application to Sydney.

You probably did not provide the statements with your application package and instead of that you may be just provided a letter with current balance or may be didn't provide any supporting documents to proof that you have that much liquid money which you have mentioned in your 'Economic Class form'. So, it is very normal they have asked you now for the proof. I am sorry to say but if you would provided those proof with ur application then u might receive the MR and RPRF instead of this settlement funds request.
Anyway don't worry, just provide the documents properly, make sure u don't put any large chunk of money within this time. If it is mainly come from your salary or from other regular source that should be fine otherwise you have to explain really really explicitly. CIC is very serious on this issue and if they don't convince they could reject ur application right away. So please be careful.

Yes. It happened to one of my friends who sent his 6 month history with his application and then he got settlement proof request again after MR but it is very rare.
If you don't provide your 6 month history, it is very likely they ask you later on.

Remember, for landing, you need still to have a minimum balance in your account. Even, I have seen some cases which the officer in the border asked for the 6 month history as well.
