One of this forum members called CIC, it turned out that the cap is not reached, they are still reviewing. Finger crossed, hopefully sooner or later charging for Dec applicants will start.

Expirity date of immigrant visas coincides with the day you underwent medical exams. For example, if you underwent medicals on Dec 01 2014, your immigrant visa will be valid until Dec 01 2015. If your spouse underwent medicals after you, she/he will have the same expiration date as you.

Processing time for PR Cards is 26 days after landing plus an additional 2 weeks for mail delivery.

It is not recommended to leave Canada before getting your PR card, unless you want to use your immigrant visa in that way. However, if you still have your student visa valid after becoming PR and before getting PR card, you can leave Canada and show your student visa to the airline when coming back. Here in Canada you can show your CoPR to enter the country. This is at your own risk, because CoPR will clearly say NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL.

Must passport be valid for at least a year when they ask for ppr? Mine is expiring in October 2015 and I probably get ppr in a few months (hopefully). Should I renew my passport?

CPC Ottawa will ask you to renew your passport before they send you a request for it (PPR) in case they notice that your passport is due to expire in less than 6 months before finalizing your application. In the mean time, you may want to check with your consulate/embassy in Canada to see if you can renew your passport now. Once you get the new passport, send a scanned version to Ottawa immediately.

Hi Everyone, I already got passport request, Now sent email to CIC as my wife is in back home to make arrangements for her to get visa stamped back home and waiting for their reply and waiting for it since 3 days. Because my wife can not send passport through DHL or any mail service so we have to get it stamped backhome

Any advise in this case?

Can't you ask one of your friends who travel from your home country to Canada to bring the passport?

its not legal to get passport like this. For some countries its legal and for some places its not legal, So I am left with one option to get it stamped back home,

Even in the VISA request email they asked, if spouse is back home to inform them so they can arrange visa stamped back home.
