Applicant from PhD program after 5 Nov, 2011 connect here to get status

It seems that completeness check for September applicant has been finished and they are checking October applicants against completeness. The overall cap according to what CIC has told to one of the applicants is based on the completeness check. Right now the overall cap is 227 and my estimation is around 400 as of today (considering non-completeness checked applications). It means that if you have not applied yet, you have still chance to be in the cap.

One more important news: according to what I saw in FSW2014 forum, the last day of receiving applications by CIO is Friday December 19th. They will close from Monday December 22nd and will open on Monday January 5th.

Are you sure about that? You mean if an application gets there on Dec 31st, they wont consider it based on current rules?!!

It seems that all of us are waiting for this officer.
I remember all May and June applicants were 19 people. Should not be more than that for April.
I wonder why no one is receiving passport request.

Thanks for sharing this, I sent them an email to see if by chance they got my PCC but they never replied, which means that they never got it. Anyways, it's good to know that they reply emails. Did you get the response on the same day?

I have sent my PCC to CIC recently by regular post. Yesterday, I sent them an email to confirm if they have received my PCC. Here is the response I get back:

Dear Sir,

All requested documents have been received.
Currently your application is in queue for review by an officer.
No further action is required by you at this time.
Please be assured that you will be contacted immediately should further information be required or regarding the next steps in your file.
We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Could you please check eCAS using your UCI now that you've been charged your application fee, to see whether it brings up any profile or still shows nothing?
Just don't forget to put the hyphen between the first and the second 4 digits: 1234-5678

It is based on what one of the applicants of FSW2014 got replied from CIO. I personally am not sure if when they come back and see some applications were delivered before Dec. 31st will be considered or not.

In general, job market is tough these days meaning that it is hard to find a job even for Canadian PhD graduates. But there are many other factors that need to be considered, so your question is not specific enough.
