Re: Important Question

Is there anybody who can answer this question?

I am going to apply for PhD stream while I am RA-ing and TA-ing for more than 3 years in University of Ottawa. I am in the middle of filling out the application package and came to this question which I don't know the right answer:

In the form SCHEDULE 3, number 9 asks:
a) Have you previously worked full time in Canada for at least one year in an occupation that is listed in Skill Type O or Skill Levels A or B of the 2011 version of the National Occupational Classification (NOC)?
Should I consider my RA and TA experiences as Levels A or B OR not?

Your inbox is full.
I think it's now called CPC-O.

I got my Medical Request today.

The earliest time to book an appointment with panel physicians is in June!!! I do not know if it is because of summer vacations, or high number of applicants.

Wow. I'm not sure, but you may try other cities?

RAing/TAing are not full-time work, but they are in Levels A or B. My answer was no.

It depends on the hours/week one claims. I claimed my RA as a full-time job and TA as a part-time.

Hi N_O, is it supposed to be 6th May 2014 in hamed_hamed_hamed*'s medical request date in excel spread sheet? or he got his medicals in March and then RPRF in May?

I claimed both RA and TA as a full time job under a single term, Graduate Assistant.

I was rejected yesterday. The reason is:

"... Therefore, you failed to demonstrate that your periods of work experience met the requirements listed above. ..."

I applied with 2years of TA/RA here in Canada, and 1year of working experience back in my home country.

Tips for you guys: Write your TA/RA letter by yourself, do not ask your supervisor to write it for your. I followed the instruction, asked my university to write it, they pass the order to the grad secretary in my school, and the secretary further asked my supervisor to write it. they got the letter and sealed it before returned it to me, so I never got a chance to look at it.

Beside, anybody want to share some experiences about apply CEC or PNP after being rejected from this PhD stream?

Sorry for that! Would you mind to let us know when you had applied and when your PER was issued?

ٍSorry to hear that! I won't blame you, but it wasn't required to send a sealed reference letter, not even an original one!
Most of the applicants wrote their reference letters by themselves, then their supervisors signed them.

Would you please share your timeline with us?

Hello NB61,

Do you mind sharing your timeline with us?

PER: Feb 26, 2013

on the IMM5612E (document checklist), item 12 says:

Letters must be:
• written on company letterhead,
• signed by the responsible officer/supervisor,
• show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses,
• stamped with the company's official seal (if applicable).

That's why I thought the letter should be sealed.

Is it possible to argue with cic and provide another letter of reference to get a reassessment?

Thanks,
