I have the same question. My passport reached ottawa in May 22 and I'm still waiting to get it back.
What is the average waiting time for passport?
pontryagin, when did your passport arrive to ottawa visa office?

My pp reached there on May 15 and visa was issued on May 23. Tracker got activated on Jun 7. It looks like the processing time for CPR is around 2 weeks.

I mailed the proof of funds to them. They have received it yesterday

BTW, I double checked my application document and figured out my application fee was charged on Mar 1, 2012. You may update it in immigration tracker.

Hi Guys, I have received my file number on May 29 2012 and document request early February 2013 which submitted then. I have not received any thing back from them yet. He gave me deep impression in his seminar presentation and two national conference presentations. His oral presentation was very clear and attractive. Also, his ability in understanding and answering the questions from the attendants was very satisfactory. "

You are missing the lead statement for a RA

"Assists me/or other professors" is missing in your letter, try to update it as soon as possible, and send them by email before they finish assessing your file, because the officers have been so sensitive to these words. If you read through last 10-15 pages of this forum you will find good examples of reference letter for RA/TA.

Hey Guys, what do you think of this updated TA/RA letter

He is also a teaching assistant in the undergraduate labs and his duties include conducting laboratory sessions, grading examinations and laboratory reports, assisting in the administration of examinations, and lab demonstrations as acknowledged in the reference letter dated XXX, 2012.

....

Do you think is enough? Thanks

It would be better if you could add "assisting ..." in your RA duties as well. For example: assisting me in analyzing... and preparing publications. In the current version it seems that you do all RA duties yourself and you are not assisting your supervisor.

When we want to email them a new and updated work experience letter for RA/TA, what do u recommend as a content or description for this attachment?

Hi all,

Haven't been active in the forum for a while since heard nothing from Ottawa. I finally got document request for my original police certificate (the one I sent is outdated by now) via email today (Jun-13). Please update my status on the excel tracker file.

I read through recent posts, a lot of persons mentioned about the RA/TA duty description. I wonder if it means ok for my RA/TA reference letter since Ottawa office doesn't ask for the improved reference letter or it's better I prepare an improved one and send it with my original police certificate?

Also, are there any one studying in Quebec? I just graduated from McGill this month (June) in Montreal, Quebec and still need to work on my papers, so I casually worked for my supervisor as a research associate. I saw some persons got rejected because of quebec residence. I plan to move to Ontario after summer, but I am still worried if it's a problem staying and working in Quebec for summer since I'm graduated and I bet they should know that since I applied for work permit by the end of May. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

I used this format for the letter. I mean that is there any need to clarify why we are updating the letter or any description about it beside the letter?

I had a similar question. This is what anjuku had to say:

yes i did put a cover letter saying that this is just supplementary information and that they should refer to my first letter for details regarding pay, hrs worked etc. I said the second letter is just to give more details of my RA/TA duties.
