I think the medical request email is generated automatically, and it was not sent by a CPP-Ottawa officer.

I thought it is generally sent on the day of eligibility assessment. :(

I have the same question. My passport reached ottawa in May 22 and I'm still waiting to get it back.
What is the average waiting time for passport?
pontryagin, when did your passport arrive to ottawa visa office?

I guess the strike may affect temporary and permanent resident visa applications only, as mentioned on the notice. Correct me if I am wrong.

Here is the link again: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2013-06-11.asp

My take is that it would affect the processing of current applications as well as the link clearly states that current wait times does not include work hours lost due to a strike. Maybe they would maintain a skeleton staff to assure minimum service standards. That is my two cents

I got POF request June 6, 2013.

Please update my stat.

Thanks.

I got the PER e-mail on the same date (FEB 18), but my application reached them on Dec 31, which is one week after you. What about your reference letter, is it already a good one, have you sent them any updated or supplementary reference letters ?

I submitted two reference letters, one from my dept. and one from one of my supervisors. I am positive the letters are good, nonetheless I plan to submit a third reference letter from my second supervisor.

OK, good luck, I guess document request should be a good sign on how the process is going

The following thread is probably useful for those trying to get some estimates on how long CPP-Ottawa will take to stamp your passports, and return them

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-long-does-it-take-cppo-to-stamp-pr-visas-t134889.2445.html

Apparently, a lot of CEC and PNP applicants got their passports back in only 6 to 15 days, whereas it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for FSW applicants. Mine took about 27 days for my tracker to get activated from the day CPP-Ottawa received my passport (a lot of other applicants who sent their passports way after me already got their passports back long before I did).

There are exceptions here and there obviously, and some people waited 10 to 15 weeks to get their passports back!!! Let's hope nobody here would have to wait that long...

I think you will received your MR once your eligibility (selection factor + POF) AND RCMP screening are done. Some people waited a long time to get MR (dj2009 and Shomo) after they passed eligibility. Apparently, their cases got stuck at RCMP screening phase for months.

have you guys seen this? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2013-06-11.asp

Hello Friends
I didn't send my Police certificate with my application and still waiting for document request. The expiry date on my Police certificate in on July 30. Do you think if CIC will accept it even if it gets expired?? I heard CIC will accept PCC's even after expiry date if they've been issued less than one year?? Is that true or I should think about getting a new PCC?

Just send it proactively. I did the same and they attached to my docs. Haven't heard anything after that though ;D

Thank you asbereth. It has only been 3 weeks for me since Ottawa got my passport.
I guess I should be patient and hope mine won't take more than 4-5 weeks :)

I got PPR on May 14, 2013 and sent them my pp via Fedex in the same day. VISA issue date is May 23, 2013, and then, it may take another 2 weeks to process CPR.
