Yeah, I agree with this.

I initially thought that they would explicitly mention that you would need to be enrolled full-time for at least two years in a PhD study. To my surprise, they said no such things, so it's better safe than sorry (and do NOT modify the template or the wording from their example of letter of attestation; even though it should technically not change anything, we never know).

I will try to look into OP6C later.

On a side note, I'm actually a bit relieved that they did not get rid of the PhD stream with the announcement of the new FSWP program (MI-8). The last third stream of FSW3, which was based on one's one year enrolment as an international student or as a foreign worker (under MI-1), was only there for about a year before they removed it.
Well that's good only if it works for you.Right now the silly language jargans are a pain.

Folks,

I have been waiting for my application for over 16 months now. I emailed CIC and wanted to know why. But they just told me it was still in process....I am supposed to get the medical exam request a long time ago.....Anyone has a similar case as mine? Any suggestion? Thanks.

Your email might have woke them up. Besides order GCMS notes as soon as possible. Quote the standard processing times in your mail to ask them. Or maybe your security, criminality etc have still not come back. Just probable guesses.

Mine is over 14 month still waiting. They even made a mistake and delayed my case for at least 3 month.

A few days ago I ordered my CAIPS. 2 days ago I sent them an e-mail asking about the status of my 1st application, and yesterday sent them my account history for 8 month to be attached to my 1st application. No news yet. E-cas shows both applications are in process. It took almost 4 weeks for hooman2012 to get contacted after his 1st application was put in process. I do not think there is anything wrong with my additional reference letter as it includes all the required information. I should hear from them soon!

People who applied in May have already received MR or document request, however, I have not been contacted yet while I applied in March!

Hi everybody,
I am a PhD student in Management at the 3rd year. I would like to apply for permanent residence under the new rules and just found this forum.
Can anybody who got the approval kindly provide a template of the letter of reference fo the TA and RA work? In addition, should I provide letters both from the job supervisor and the HR deparment?
Thank you very much for any help that you can give me :)

We will have to wait and see what's on your GCMS notes. I hope you will hear something good about your first application (like MR or eligibility approval), though unfortunately, even if that is the case and you choose to withdraw your second application, you will lose the 550 bucks since you already got your second file number. Ironically, that is the best case scenario :)

Hi myriam, there have been several people here that have posted their TA/RA letters from their professors. You can try browsing the forum a bit (maybe several hundred pages back :) ). The most important thing is to include the leading statement, and also try to follow as close as possible to the descriptions given by the HRSDC website (but not straight copy paste)

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/Profile.aspx?val=4&val1=4012

And if it's not too complicated, also include your HR letter as well, but make sure your prof's reference letter would not contradict the information given by HR. The more evidence you provide, the better :)

I paid 1100 :(. If I withdraw my application, would they return my documents? I hope since they made the mistake, thye would be more helpful, and at least return my documents as it costs a lot to prepare them.
