Thx for your quick reply. These guys don't have pattern...
You are right, I guess it depnds on the CPP-officer checking your documents and your background information as well. I think people with too many background details need to wait longer. Just a guess.

Hi Nima, I have the same timeline as you. You can check if your criminality and also security checks have been started or not. You can find it in the second page I guess. What about the "Eligibility" that page?

Hey Guys, I have a question about the adaptability point that we could be eligible for under the new points criteria:
It says in the CIC website that
"Your past work in Canada
You did at least one year of full-time work in Canada:
in a occupation listed in Skill Type O or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC), and
with a valid work permit or while authorized to work in Canada."

would entitle you to 10 points, But the thing is unlike other usage of full-time work experience, the equivalent part-time work is not mentioned here !! Does that mean that we can not claim this 10 points of adaptability for an equal amount of part-time work experience ?

It would be appreciated if seniors in this thread can clarify this.

In my opinion, if it says full time experience and not equivalent then CIC wont count equivalent experience as full time. Previous applicants did not get 5 adaptability points for one year full time experience even though they had more than one year of equivalent experience.

Hi,

I am a PhD student in my second year. I plan to apply this FSW PhD stream next year. I have a question about the proof of funds. I didn't have that much money in my bank account right now (only $6,000). But I can get some from my father, relatives, etc. Is it OK to borrow some and save in my account? How long time it should be saved, so that CIC will believe that those money is not borrowed from other persons? How did the seniors in this forum deal with this problem? I need your suggestions.

Thanks for your replies.

It is usually not ok to borrow money, and people have been rejected because of it.

Hi guys,

I'm going to move home (same province though). What's the best way to update one's address with CIC?

eCAS, MyCIC and with the way things are going lately as in lost med requests and letters not being updated, an email and a hard copy letter too.

First two should work fine though.
