The CIO got so fast these days that your online status changed after you got your PER :D It used to be that the online status changed about a week after your credit card got charged, and it would not change until the visa office has received your application (I think, a couple of weeks after the 2nd AOR). I think it just implied that your application has been received by the CIO. You can click on 'In Process' to get more details, though most like it's just going to say that your PR application has been received at such and such date.

Hi informer2000, fellowship counts as income. As we have discussed, there was never a mention that the income needs to be taxable, so fellowship (or graduate research scholarship or something similar) would count as an income. Several posters here have gotten PER's with only TA/RA experience, and a lot of them actually receive the RA portion through scholarship.

The minimum wage is, I believe, $10.25/hour, so $12/hour would not be a problem. However, I'm not sure though if you can actually claim full-time of work experience at the same time you're claiming to be studying full-time as well. The norm here is to claim about 20 - 25 hours of work per week (since the requirement for full-time PhD study would require the other 15 hours a week). Do you have other work experience within the last 10 years? What about your Master's degree? Any chance that you can claim the TA/RA for your Masters as work experience as well?

And apparently, regarding the 5 adaptability points, a user (I believe it was beishidashuo) had his NER overturned to PER after sending a complain to the CIO through fax, so apparently, there still has been some confusion whether to award these 5 points or not among, even the officers, though indeed that the default practice has been so far for them not to award these points to applicants that have not completed a degree in Canada (though it was clear from the Instruction Guide 7000 that one need not have completed the degree to be awarded these points).

I just hope that the visa office would have more common sense, and would not reject applicants simply because they have different interpretation than the CIO regarding these 5 adaptability points.

My wife is a fulltime PhD student and has 11 months full time RA and 19 months part time (19 hours/week) RA (based on her paycheques and T4). I'm wondering if we can claim the 11 months of fulltime RA (37.5/week) and it doesn't interfere with being a fulltime PhD student?

I think it's fine. How did she determine that she had 11 months of full-time RA experience? Is it written on the HR letter? I always advice people to claim as little as possible when it comes to RA/TA, precisely because there is a requirement for full-time PhD study (20 hours per week instead of 37.5), which amounts to 15 hours of instructions per week, but several applicants have claimed full-time for their RA/TA, and they seem to be fine. Also, at least 1,950 hours of work experience needs to be continuous, so it's something that you need to keep in mind as well.

Guys, I got medical received and decision made lines all at the same time (just now, I think they updated it on midnight), but no PPR yet. I hope it doesn't mean rejection or interview :(

The same thing happened in my case three weeks ago. I have not heard anything from CIC still. No PPR, No RPRF :-\

When did you get your medical, and when did you do it? Have you tried contcting them? I wonder if the fourth line was a glitch, or if it meant an interview is required :(

I guess you are ok as long as you got the medical request.

I got the medical request in the mid of January 2013 and I did the medical shortly after. I sent them an email last week. They sent me a generic kind of reply the same day. I ordered CAIPS last week as well. Still waiting to hear from them ....

It should be a good news hopefully.

Well at the very least they are still working on our stream. Hoping for continued news.
Good to know that you guys made it this far. There's a big gap for us (anjuku and myself) - btw us and GeoCanadian. So, we can't gauge how soon we're going to get our med/doc request

Thanks. I have a question. How can I send a private message?

Click on the person id, and in the person's profile page, there's a link called "Send this member a personal message."

Click that to compose your private message to that fella.

Hi

Here is my information for tracking sheet

My application reached CIO on Apr. 2, 2013
Money was cashed on Apr. 5, 2013
I received the file number on Apr. 15, 2013
Number of applicants: one
ONLY RA/TA experience included

Lets see how it will go.
Wish everyone including myself best of luck ;)

Hey everyone,

Just an update: I got OHIP coverage approved for myself and my spouse after appealing, even though my PER letter only included my name and not his. I had sent copies of documents showing status for both, proof of residency address, proof of relationship, and a copy of the PR generic application form showing that I am the main applicant and he is the accompanying person.

Best of luck to all of you in the rest of this journey!

Not before you have 10 posts in the forum!

Two more applicants had the same thing! It seems they changed the way they work, they post the updates then they contact the applicant!
