smallkick, even if you're not rejected (and you won't be rejected), there is still a good chance that they may ask you for new PCC anyway. I think it's probably not a bad idea to apply now, so you will have it ready by the time they ask (if they do), so this won't delay your processing too much.

Also, as aidina and others have been saying, it's probably not a bad idea either to expound a little more on your job descriptions, and do so in a way that doesn't contradict what you wrote before. Remember, the visa officer has to

take into account any years of experience that occur between application and assessment, and for which the applicant has submitted the necessary documentation

So most likely they will consider your additional letter, provided that you won't need extra work experience after date of assessment. And he has to take into account work experience 'for which the applicant has submitted the necessary documentation' as well. Obviously, there is the risk that they choose they won't follow this, but at least there is also the chance that it will be accepted, so hope for the best.

Does anybody know if it is possible to apply under this PhD stream from outside of Canada? If yes, should I still send my application to Sydney office?

Yes, as long as you graduate from a Canadian university in the last 12 months. If you apply exactly one year and one day after you graduated you do not qualify anymore.

Yeah, this is why it's a bit risky to apply as a PhD graduate, since if you are rejected, most likely you won't be eligible anymore at the completion of your processing, so you have to make sure that work experience, POF, and all other eligibility stuff are addressed properly the first time around.

I was wrong on my prediction of curious2 getting passport request this week: it was otacon!
Otacon: You got medical request on Feb 1. can you let us know when did you actually do your medical?
Hopefully hamoon, courious2 and AF_ get passport request soon too.
About pixie30 I have the feeling her got her visa along time ago and she is not longer following the blog.

She said in Jan 13 that she didn't hear anything from VO Mexico City. So it may be the case, or not.

I just got my 2nd CAIPS. Not a single change in it. They have not touched the file since May 25, 2012.

They seem to have divide applications in two batchs, first half of 2012 and second half. Second half will have faster processing times.

On my CAIPS report, I found the due date of the Medical part is today(2013/3/28).
Does it mean I should know something(even if rejection) by the end of the day?

Technically, But I think they can ignore it. Most probably a few more days. I bet you they are not even working anymore today.

Just got the document request today for POF and six months of activities.
Not sure if this is good news or not.

All of our founds are in Canadian bank and in C$. Should we just provide scanned proof and send it via email?

Thanks.

Congrats, man :) I think most very likely, your application has been assessed against the 6 selection factors, and they have accepted your work experience. At least, that's how I think the process goes, at least from my CAIPS (though there could still be ambiguity if you need adaptability points). And send your documents as soon as possible. You'll get your medicals most likely within 2 weeks after you submit your POF (if they're okay with it).

Thank you asbereth. These days we are pretty upset to hear about too many rejections because of work reference letter.
We even wanted to give up if we got the rejection letter because repreparing the appllication would take us too much time and money. Anyway, now got a little bit of relief.

Ya, order your CAIPS too right now if possible, and by the time you get it next month, you'll notice a lot of movements within your application (and share it all to us to help uncover exactly how these officers are working) :)
