I've been document requested and they gave me one month deadline for it, but my police certificate will be ready in 45 days. what should I do?

You don't need to resend the language test result. Send a photocopy, and in the cover letter, make sure to mention "CIC retains the original". This is actually stated in the guidelines. All other documents must be obtained again though.

I submitted my application in mid-December and received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing on February 8th. I have a question about police certificates. For my undergraduate degree, I lived in a country for approximately 3 years, however I never spent more than 5 consecutive months at a time. Do I need to submit a PCC? Also, if I obtain my PCCs, can I send them in before they are requested to avoid them expiring?

Hi hzebel, how did you find out how long your PCC would take? You said it would take 45 days, but how did you get to know that? If there is a written or documented proof that you have applied for your PCC immediate after the request, and if there is also a proof that it would most likely go over the deadline, despite your best effort to obtain it the soonest you can, then you can probably try to write an explanation letter to them, telling them the situation.

Try posting a new thread within the forum too, since some of the members of this forum are really familiar with issues like this and the intricacies of the process, whereas this thread is something that mostly is specific to the PhD stream (and since not that many of us here have gone through the whole process, we're not all that familiar and can only offer so much advice). Good luck and keep us updated.

Ya, I don't think you need to live more than 6 months at a stretch. You just have to have accumulated more than 6 months living there since the age of 18.

This is the code for 2006, the right code is 4012 for 2011 classification!

I am a bit confused here. Is the NOC code for research assistant 4012 or 4122 ??? And should the letter from my supervisor exactly MENTION this number (either 4012 or 4122) ??? or is it just enough that the explanations of the job duties and hours/week match those of the NOC code?

I think it would be OK to ask your supervisor describe your job duties and so on just according to the info under the NOC number.

I think I remember people discussing their due dates, to be followed by CIC, mentioned in CAIPS notes for different things like eligibility assessment, police clearance etc. I don't see any in mine? Am I missing something out or am I completely imagining things?

It is up to them if they want to confirm you have enough funding. Not having enough funding after you apply and until you land is very dangerous. if you don't have money now, save and apply later. If you borrow you are committing misrepresentation.

Is the field there at all? It should be there, even if empty.
