One week to go until the caps must be reset or the stream is put on hold. Lets see if they will move or not. Still, 2 months without update just show how much respect they have for the applicants.

As I have asked them on Sept 27/2012 the cap was 980/1000, I believe it should be closed first week of Oct./2012. We will see when the time comes!

Thanks, that was what i suspected as well. It is just annoying they have the information but they don't publish.

hey all, I have a quick question for those who tried to get the international tuition exemption with the PER letter: there are two people on my application (myself and my partner) but the PER letter only ever mentions myself, now, how can she prove that she is on this application and get the tuition fee exemption?

Hi,

As long as they change your fee status to domestic they have to change it for your dependent. You can also grab their attention to the meaning of dependent in Operating funds manual of the Ministry of training. They just need to confirm that she or he is your dependent. They can easily check this through CIC directly. But you can also get this confirmation through MP.

Good luck

Hi, AF,

I just did that for my wife. Try to google ' Ontario operating funds distribution manual', and you will get a pdf file from university of Guelph. This document is from the ministry of training, college and university, regulating how universities distribute provincial funds. Check out the section 4.1. I know different schools have different rules about the exemption. But remember that no school in Ontario could deviate from this manual. Good luck.

Thanks! But I don't know how this document you are pointing to is relevant (I guess i'm a bit slow :) ). But, what did you need to present to get exemption for her? Just the PER letter and your partnership document? Because the lady at the graduate office at my school totally looked confused when I asked her about my partner and she told me that I have to ask "immigration office" (!!?) about it!

Yes, I agree, but I don't really know how they are dealing with this! I kept explaining the situation for the lady at the grad office and she kept telling me that they can only do that for people whose name are in the "PER" letter! Anyway, I keep trying. What's mp btw?

First of all, I think you should go to the office of registry or enrollment office, and probably they will refer you to the graduate office. If they keep saying what they only could do, then you need push them to show you the regulation document. Indeed, the operating funds distribution manual is the regulation rule. So if you want to save thousands of dollars, you'd better to read it yourself carefully.

You have to push them, because we had a very hard time when we tried to get it. officers from schools are acting like they are defenders of the university, and we are the thieves. The only way to get it through is that you have more expertise than they do. and it won't bother you too much to read the document, because you are a PhD. Good Luck!

Is a watermark is equivalent to stamps in the Letter Of Attestation for the PhD stream? They said they don't have stamps, I need your advice here. Thanks

I've no idea about acceptability of watermark.
It is really weird for a graduate office not to have a stamp!! may be talk to a different front-desk guy at a different time.
If every effort fails, then at the minimum you can have the letter in a closed envelope and signed on the back flap - like an official transcript kind of thing.

Hello everybody!

Admin, Would you please add me to the tracker? My application was delivered on Oct 1st. 1 person included in it and i'm Iranian. Thanks

It seems strange! If they have the updated number why they don't wanna publish it.
Their behavior impose both financial and opportunity cost to all the applicant who applied in the past two months.

Hi guys,

I just got "a positive final determination of eligibility for processing" email. The money order was en-cashed yesterday.

My application reached CIC on Aug.17.

Hi zhengyilove, congratulations!!! I'm glad you got your PER (which means a lot these days, especially if you live in Ontario), and it's good to know that at least they're still working on our stream. Anyway, can you provide the rest of the information if you want to be included in the spreadsheet?
