Yeah, I am worried too! Waiting and refreshing the email all the time!

BTW, I got my GCMS notes, it was generated on April 17. IT HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED YET!!!
I have a feeling that you are like those applicants who get doc request late, but very soon after that the medical. You really deserve it.

Thank you Parkinson! We all deserve it, I wish you and the others a good luck.

I think you were so obsessed with the word "assist" , that you included it even in duties which you should do by yourself like conducting experiments and...Don't forget that you not only should have the lead statement; but also a substantial number of main duties.

How about this letter.

"This is to certify that Mr. XXXX has been a Research Assistant working towards Ph.D degree under my supervision at XXXXX from May 2011 until present (25 hours per week). As a research assistant his main duty is to assist professors to carryout research in the department. The annual total salary of XXXXX is $XXXX (CAD) at a rate of $33.34 CAD per hour. He is working to understand how the interactions of two stress hormones (chemicals released by brain when we are stressed) alter brain function. In addition to the work he does for his PhD project, he assists me in two other projects as well. As a research assistant (NOC-4012) his duties are:
• Conducting experiments (Imaging studies, electrophysiology and immunohistochemistry on human and rat brain tissue), surveys and literature reviews.
• Assist professors to write proposals for research grants.
• Scheduling experiments and maintaining data records.
• Assist professors to analyze research results, interpretation and present it to funding agencies and pharmaceutical companies during conferences.
• Assist professors in compiling research results and analyzing data for the preparation of journal articles or papers.
• Assist professors in writing research articles for publication in peer reviewed journals.
• Attending national and international conferences to present research work representing the lab.
• Assisting his supervisor in training masters, undergraduate and high-school students while doing their projects/co-ops in the lab.
• Assisting technicians in addressing problems and troubleshooting the equipment in the lab.
Mr. XXXX is making excellent progress in research assistantships. He is recently awarded with Ontario Graduate Scholarship, a competitive award. He is expected to complete all of the degree requirements for the Ph.D. program by April 2015. If I can be of any further assistance please contact me through my email or phone number mentioned below.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX

Please comment on it. So that I will update it.Thanks.

The weird thing is that I sent some additional docs by email two times and did not receive the auto reply even after 2 days!! However, I sent it by mail too which was delivered.

Send docs by mail too. I did update my docs multiple times both by email and mail until I got my meds.

My ecas now says "Medical results have been received"..

When have you done your medical tests? I am asking this to know how long it takes for them to update ones status after they get the medical result from a physician.

No. I sent them an inquiry e-mail few days ago and they confirmed receiving my results and that they are currently being reviewed at their medical office

Hi guys,

I think I got the visa request today since CIC sent me an email titled "Ready For Visa - Prêt Pour Visa". They ask me to mail our passports to their office :)

It is really fast since I just did my medical exam last month!

I did it on the day after I got the medical request.

Thanks. Yes, it changed today. The problem is I am going to leave Canada in June and will need my passport; Can't risk mailing the passports and not getting them in time.. I will be back mid-July. In case I get ppr before I leave, I was wondering if there is a possibility to get the visa in person? Like go to an office and get the visa stamped?

Unfortunately, I got rejection email few hours ago from CIC for the same reason (ref letters) :(. Here is the letter I received:

I am not satisfied that you meet these requirements. Your period of work experience as a Research Assistant (NOC 4012) at xxx does not meet the requirements of b) and c) above as the letters of reference you submitted did not list any duties which matched the actions of the lead statement and a substantial number of the main duties under the NOC code you selected. Your PA’s period of work experience as a Sessional lecturer (NOC 4011) at xxx does not meet the requirements of b) and c) above as the letter of reference you submitted did not list any duties. Your periods of work experience as a Process Engineer (NOC 2134) at xxx do not meet the requirements of b) and c) above as the letters of reference you submitted did not list any duties which matched the actions of the lead statement and a substantial number of the main duties under the NOC code you selected. Therefore, you failed to demonstrate that your period of work experience met the requirements listed above.

I do have more than three years work experience in industry and academia but they did not accept my letters apparently. I noticed that my RA/TA letter did not highlight leading statement "assisting". Then, I immediately updated that with a detailed one which was clarifying the duties based on NOC code. However, it seems it was not effective :(. Any suggestion at this point my friends? Shall I reapply? If I prepare my letters carefully this time, is the processing time that long?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat, mine hasn't been touched either, … as of GCMS notes generated on 1 April 2014. Another set of notes will arrive the first week of June after my third updated reference letter
