You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.

So 20hr/wk for two years is more than enough to get 1560 hr which is equivalent to 12 months of full-time.

Yes, highest level of education should be Master, but in counting no. of years of education count the years you've studied so far in your PhD. I've done this way.

I have a question that may be stupid...
I have not got my PhD degree yet but I have a Master's degree, so my highest level of education in IMM 0008 should be Master. Is my understanding correct?
What do you fill?

I got My GCMS for the first time. Here is the summary:
Page 2:
Assessments:
Eligibility: Not started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In process
Medical: Not started
Application Assignment:
Assigned to : FA01772
Page 3:
Assigned by: RK6165
Due date: 2014/3/30
Total points I was awarded (I guess by CIO):
Age: 10
Years of Education (Greater than or equal to 17): 25
Years of Experience 4: Point: 21
Language: 12
Adaptability (Spouse education): 4
Total: 72
Any suggestion my friends? What else should I look into?
However, I still do not have a good feeling about my application since my RA letter was not prepared well ( my duties were not explained in details). Shall I update them with a detailed one?

Cheers,

Question regarding the medical exam:

I suppose that people bring their medical chart and everything?

What kind of things can be used to refuse immigration status based on medical exam (I wonder because I made one ER trip and had a bunch of follow up exams that led nowhere, can this be used to refuse an application?).

Thanks!!!!!

If you are undergoing an EDE (Excessive demand exempt) medical exam, then immigration cannot declare you medically inadmissible come what may. This applies if you are applying under the spousal sponsorship route.

All other economic immigration programs are designated as Non-EDE and are subjected to the statutory regulations. Any condition that can reasonably be expected to cause an excessive demand can lead to a fairness letter and in some cases an unfavorable decision

e.g: Diabetes that leads to organ failure (e.g kidney failure). What really depends here is the prognosis for the next 10 years

In some cases medical furtherance may be required leading to additional tests and referral to a specialist

Long story short: your trip to the ER cannot lead to a refusal outright. However, be honest with the doctor as to what happened and you should sail through

good luck !!

Hello there,

The most important part is the notes section, read it carefully to figure out whether they pre-assessed it or not yet.
If they haven't pre-assessed it yet and you feel that your letters are not strong enough then update them ASAP.

Hi all, for the proof of settlement fund, one recommended documents is the bank statements for certain months. I have amount in my TSFA. So I am planning to submit bank transaction statements, for last 6 months, of my chequing, saving and TSFA accounts.

Is it enough??

Also do we need to have required fund (as mentioned in http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp) all the time of provided transaction history or just the final value of the fund in bank, greater than the required fund, is enough??

Now, I see the note. I has been said that "letter of reference related to work experience on file-not verified."

Hello,

Do any one know what does the PhD cap reach? how many applications have been received so far? any update on the CIC website?

Thanks

It seems that your application hasn't been pre-assessed by Ottawa's officers, it would be better to update your reference letters if they aren't strong enough.

Good Luck!

Hey Guys,

After 13 months of silence, they have sent me a doc request on Feb 25th:

> Funds, proof: Please provide evidence of funds which are completely available, transferrable and unencumbered by debt or other obligations.
Evidence of account activity for the past six months must also be submitted. This must be received at this office by: 03/25/2014. > Ph.D. program information:
• The field of study for your doctoral program,
• The name and contact details of your doctoral advisor and/or academic supervisor,
• A detailed Curriculum Vitae, and
• A list of all publications that you have authored or have participated in.

Do you think that this mean I probably have passed eligibility review? There are 2 persons in my application so should I just have above 13000$ for proof of fund? I have sent them my Resume and PhD details with my original application but they are requesting it again.
