Not always. However, I believe anjuku got one. However, she received her passport request while she was waiting on her PCC...

They can ask for anything I suppose. Keep fingers crossed until you land. Just updated them with new bank statement.

I asked a question a few days ago about the intention for leaving Quebec that caused refusal of some applications. Guys I need to know at WHAT STAGE is this happening? I had one response that said this is before issuing medical?! Can anyone else please confirm this? and if so, how long on average does issuing medical is done after you submit your application?

Hi absolute

It is definitely before medicals as this is when you get the medicals, viz all selection and eligibility criteria checked etc etc. which includes the intention to settle outside Quebec. Unless the officer is not satisfied, he will not put in the selection met note for the system to generate the medical request. They instead send the email to prove or demonstrate the intention to settle outside of Quebec.

This could happen anytime i.e. year of application. 2012 applicants are much delayed but 2013 are running like bushfire (happy for them). It is not done by SL but final selection by FA. My file was first examined by CPP in March and POF request generated. No questions about Quebec residency then. I have been providing them with documents proactively such as offer letter, thesis submission, thesis defence, joining letter etc.

Whenever they open your file for final assessment is when you get the explanation email, so no clear answers as no one knows, so track the tracker, pretty much its predictable except few jump the lines. So you have a rough idea of anticipation based on previous months.

Thanks a lot for the info. I didnt get what you mean by SL or FA though. In your case how long after you first sent your documents did you get the medical?

SL is the first assessment at CPP and FA is the final one at CPP when they either reject, ask to explain or generate medicals. Please see previous posts for the complete experiences.

My application reached them Aug 2012, first assessment done March 2013 and medicals Nov 2013. Please keep in mind this also includes when CIC was on strike, so time lines might be faster.

Hope it helps.

In my last notes (back in june), I found that my file was directly assigned to FA, and there was no pre-assessment other than the one done by CIC.

Any ideas guys?

I think you'll hear from them very soon, order a new set of GCMS although it may be late.
