Guys I received my visa. It was pretty fast! I sent my passport on June 6 and I have it today (June 21). Thank you for the info you shared. This was a great forum.
I am going to land on border since it is faster, do I need to take anything with myself? I already know about proof of fund. Is there a special thing they will ask me there?

Please take the work experience letters, ur work permit (off campus, if any), study permit and bank statements, these should be fine. And please spend some time with forum to share your experience with others, that would be really appreciated. Congrats!! and Good luck for the rest of things like ur defense, job etc. :)

Curious2, congratulations !!!

Based on the experience of some members here, and also some of my friends who landed under PhD stream, I don't think they will ask you for any documents at all. 99 percent they're not going to ask you for anything. I just happened to be one of those unlucky ones who were given a hard time during landing.

It's still better to be prepared though (POF, proof of enrolment, proof of salary and funding, etc).

My PCC reached Ottawa today. Hopefully I will get ppr soon since our medical was done three months earlier...not sure if any ppl in this forum has the same situation:they request pcc after the medical results was received by Ottawa.

No you don't have to send anything to ottawa after an e-medical...whatever they gave you is for your records to confirm that you have done the medicals..but the doctor's office will e-mail ottawa your file once they get all the examination results :D

The Dr secretary asked me to send it to Ottawa.

Does anyone know about SL01732.Has anyone been asked anything, rejected by this number??

SL01732 had analyzed my application first and did not accept my work experience letter. However, the final decision is made by FA01772.
Since I had updated my work experience letter before the final decision, FA01772 accepted it

But did you actually see your GCMS notes after sending the updated work experience letter? That is, are you sure that FA01772 had analyzed your file before sending the medical request?

Hi Guys,

I have sent reference letter for TA/RA with updated Schedule 3 adding NOC 4012. Letter is received, confirmed by canada post. Should I ask CPP-Ottawa about the arrival of my letter or should I wait for few days?

I sent two emails of the soft copy of both letters but didn't receive anything from CIC. Any suggestion..

Hi all, I just got my GCMS (requested on May 24). Total points=71. For adaptability CIO awarded 5 points for previous PhD study in Canada. But they didn't award points for spouse's education (should get 4 points).
I don't think CPPO will award 5 points for previous study. Should I contact them for points of spouse's education just in case CPPO also don't count spouse's education?
Thanks ;D

Absolutely. They make mistakes occasionally.

I would wait for about a week after the letter has been delivered. However, if you expect your application to be assessed soon, then it might be a good idea to inquire.

Did you write them an email asking specifically if they received an updated letter of reference? If no, you should email ottpilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca and ask if they received your document. Make sure you provide enough detail about yourself so that they could easily identify you.

Yes, FA01772 has assessed my file before sending medical request.
First, I received a rejection email from FA01772 because of IELTS score error (FA01772 had given me 12/16 which in turn my total score became 66/100 while I should have got 14/16)
Then, I emailed them and this time FA01772 emailed me that there has been an error in IELTS score calculation and I have passed the required 67 points and asked me for POF.
After I sent them the POF, they sent me the medical request.

Hi Guys, my passport has been delivered to the Calgary post office, I just haven't received it due to the flooding in the city. Hoping to receive it soon and hopefully they have issued the Visa. By the way in my case it took them exactly two weeks to send it back.

What Stuck in Quebec has shared regarding GCMS notes is a little alarming. I have been planning to update my exp letter, it could take a while as I have to get a new letter from back home. Meanwhile I had PCC request, my PCC s are ready though I have time until August (90 days). Should I send both the documents together? I am afraid that if I submit the PCCs now, they might do the eligibility without updated experience.

I agree with you on this. It is quite a possibility, once they receive the PCC, they may move on to the next step. So, sending both the documents together is a better option.

Wait until you get your refrence letter to be in the safe side.
