I still have another theory which says that they have to process some random applications ahead to keep the average processing time close to what they claim.

I hope you are wrong :D

I sent them an email about two weeks ago, asking about status of my application and this is their reply:
Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your email (see below).
Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.
An immigration officer will be in contact with you if any further correspondence is needed.
We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

I think this is a generic answer they send to everybody who asks about his/her status.

This is borderline relevant now, but Jason Kenney will probably change Jus Soil to Jus sanguinis at some time this year or next year. This means that babies born I Canada from parents that are not PR or Citizens will not be Canadian anymore. He was asking questions about this on his Twitter a few days ago.

basically, the only countries that allow Jus Soil are in The Americas with a few exceptions spread across the world, about 30-35 countries.

Thanks! Well good for me .....
I have almost completed my application.

Just waiting for my wife's birth certificate. Will get that in one week....

For the purpose of PR application, our Parents registered our birth recently. Till now we have been using our high certificate as our birth date proof.

I spent a lot of time to prepare my application.. Thanks you guys for your guidance and suggestions

Unfornately in my case, we didn't get it though we have enough points already.
This shows on our CAIPs Report. Don't count on the 5 points, it's risky.

How many points you got from adaptability......

Max you can get 10.

For example. 1. 5 pts for 2 years study in Canada (According to OP 6 b, Applicant need not required any degree for this)
2. 5pts if spouse has 17 years of full time education
3. 5pts for relative (in my case it is my son)

But one can get only 10 pts from this. All the above three is true in my case

hi smallkick...may i ask why you didn't get the 5 points for your child?...did you already get 10 points from adaptability? from your spouse's education and what else?

i wouldn't rely on the 5 points from study...but my understanding was that the child's 5 points is easy to get...i have to wait for my CAIPS to see if i got it or not!

From the previous posts I believe if they ask only for bank history they give 30 days, but if they ask for bank history and other documents (eg. PCC or CV), they give more time.

They gave me 60 days for a bank history statement only (no other document)
