Hello all, im pretty new to all this and to the forum but i recently did a spousal sponsorship app to bring my wife from cuba, but the whole package returned with no explanation as what i did wrong, my wife and myself filled the forms and im pretty sure we must have messed something up but i would like to know what was it, just wondering if this is a normal thing to happen or not, now im considering hiring a lawyer to do all the work but thats kind of expensive, so i decided to post here and hear some thoughts.
thanks in advance for your time.

Did you miss any signatures or forms? Is it possible one of the forms you used is out of date? CIC updates the forms from time to time and if you printed a form a while back and submitted that one - it's possible you may have used an out of date form.

Your first check is Outland or Inland, if you are applying outland, please download correct and up to date forms.

Then check the address where you sent the application. There are different addresses for different types of application.

Then check the forms for signature. Make sure you validated both Sponsor's form and Principal Applicant forms (IMM0008).

Usually if you are missing a signature or form, they would outline that, but I don't think that's the case in your situation.

There was no note or bit of paper or anything attached? Check the forms for any writing that isn't yours as well.

I'm sure you can figure it out without a lawyer, go through the checklist one by one and see if anything is missing. As the others said, check all the dates and signatures.
