Average waiting time for GCMS notes is almost 25-30 days and someone, living in canada, can apply these on your behalf. But ideal time of ordering GCMS notes is atleast 3-4 months post AOR.

Good point.

Probably best to wait a while before ordring gcms notes to make sure that you dont waste your time and money on them before the processing has even properly started.

I recently got the updates below from CIC


We have begun processing your application for permanent residence, and in order to make a decision we require the following information/documents:

Please confirm your current country of residence and residential address. We require this information in order to triage your application to the correct processing office.


An updated Schedule A: Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature for yourself and spouse. Ensure that there are no unaccounted for time gaps for questions 8 and 12 since the age of 18.

Newly completed Additional Family Information form (IMM 5406) for yourself and spouse.


I was based out of my home country at some point but I'm back now. Although review of eligibility still in progress and my background check is showing not started.

This is the 2nd time I will be filling IMM 5669, on the previous form, I started from "past 10 yrs" now they are asking for "since the age of 18". I have provided all details so fingers crossed. I don't know if by this stage POF would have been done, but I'm hopeful all is well.


I don't know if these last update is a sign I'm getting closer too.

Can you please share your timeline and category (PNP/ CEC/ Inland/ Outland)? Unfortunately, I don't see your name on the November AOR spreadsheet!!!

As for re-submission of the forms, I think the most important thing is the consistency of the information and complete disclosure of your background. Just make sure all the info on the forms is correct and consistent with your previous submission. Also, please put an explain in case there is a need to explain cases like previous visa refusal, fund status, etc.

do you know how long it usually takes for them to re-open the file?

No idea but CSE response time can be from 10 to 30 days. If you know the visa office where your file was in process. You can send direct email or CSE. Check below link.

I had submit a cse on November 30 for submitting New passport copies. I forgot the confirmation today for that. So took 2 weeks for me.

Guys, I received my AOR on 15th Nov 2015.
I got a request to submit to IMM 5669 E form. I have a doubt with regards to the education section :

I did my complete education in Bangalore.

I did my Class 1 to Class 10 under Karnataka State board. Then i did my 1st PU and 2nd PU in college under Karnataka state board.
Then i did my BE in college under Visveswaraiah Technological University.

Please can anyone let me know how to fill the Education section of IMM 5669 E form as per my education.
I need to submit in the next 5 days .

It will be really great if someone can help me out with this.

Every time I try to open and I have to repeat all steps 10 times to open my cic/ GC-key login.
